Stealth vs Counter? (Possibly a bug)

Does stealthed character can't get countered?
If so, then I'd like to report a possible bug...my Nightsister Acolyte has a basic atk where she'll go to stealth whenever she scored a critical hit. often times when she did this, the opponent still counter her although she was already in stealth mode.
