Level 77 doldrums

I've recently reached level 77 and noticed that there's really nothing to do or achieve for another three (?) levels... why is there such a long gap in unlockable content? Kind of bored and sad that there are so many "high tier" events.

Level 80 was the max possible for a long time, so a lot of stuff becomes available then. You should have some gear levels and omega abilities unlocking from level 77-79, depending on characters.
