Who should I use for a tank to help with offense and defense?? Help!!!!!!

So I have been running Maul (L) Vader, boba, and b2 I have been having issues ranking up and holding I have RG 5* g8 shoretrooper 4*g8 just pulled baze obviously no gear would it be worth it to start working on him or what's a better option to use??

Royal guard is who I'm using and I love him. He can stun taunt and do a lot of other things within each ability.
