Rancor devour eating toons before he should

Rancor has been chowing down on my toons like a fat girl at a BBQ!!! Is this a bug? Or is it what it is?

Rancor decreases cooldowns of devour for each enemy that goes below 50% health, but display may not update until after he completes all actions.

Ok... Understandable... But I have had him eat a toon, I go through my hits then he's eating another with 5 turns left on him... Wasn't sure if this was a bug/glitch or whatever... I reckon I'll start marinating my toons for him in the future...
