Focus change in arena battle.

The easiest way to lose the arena is change the focus by AI and strike wrong enemy.
Is it bug if AI change the focus by itself?
It should not be a problem , I can always change back the focus to my target but ... during the fight I have the next steps in my mind and focus change I see after pressing the ability ...
I do not see sense in it. Is this change to make the game harder or AI wants to suggest which char should be striked next ? The hint like it I do not need.
