Potency for toons with no debuff abilities

I found another thread on this but didn't get a clear answer.... Does potency do anything for toons who can't apply detrimental effects? (Eg barris?) Thanks.

Potency is sed for debuff and TM reduction, so no it's not usefull here. GK had also 0% potency.

That's what i thought but i was cruising a team instinct player's roster (I figure those guys know their stuff) and he had + 24 potency on the + mod for zarris.... Thought i might be missing something?

Maybe because there is a good speed secondary on it.

possibly just using the character as storage so that he can browse his mods more easily on that website swgoh.gg.

As mentioned above, potency helps TMR stick - that's why QGJ and Rex have need of good potency. It's a must for Teebo, especially on the Tier 6-7 Rancor raids - he's got no debuff ability but an awesome TMR move (if omega'd, still pretty good without) that only lands with good potency (65% or higher I'm told).

Some characters without TMR or debuffs get some potency from gear...it's minimal and not really intended for that purpose (it's the other stats on the gear that matter).

Only other use is IG-88 leadership which means anyone can apply DoTs
