Gear bug?

I cannot get any gear, simmed like 50 goes using about 500 crystals, and no gear is appearing. Whats going on?
I am trying to gear level 10 palp, only need carbanti lev 5 sensor array, but all the gear i collect seems to vanish. is there an obvious thing going on, like is it that you need shedloads of salvage to make it????
