So let's try to get this straight...the forum update post says "Quote:The only way that players will be able to challenge Grand Master Yoda directly is if they can form a team composed of only Jedi. If players can create a team of all 7-star Jedi and defeat all difficulty tiers then they will be awarded with the ultimate prize, a SEVEN-STAR Grand Master Yoda!"
What I get from this is, the only way to unlock master Yoda is with an ALL 7 STAR TEAM OF JEDI...correct me if I am wrong...and God I hope I am...cause the majority of us have been focusing on the dreadful HK 47team with Poe...or Phasma speed...that's going to take forever unless we dump thousands of dollars into this **** game...at which point it literally makes this a pay to win game...putting all of the f2p players at a serious disadvantage. I hope I'm wrong...because even with 2 jedi at 7 star my other 3 are at 4 stars and the only way to get them is cantina battles or buying shard packs to get lucky...some clarification would be great. Even with my 5 jedi all at or above 4 stars I don't see the option to participate in the Yoda Event.

I have 5* barisse, 5* qgj, 5* eeth, 5* jc and 7* lumi. I can unlock yoda at 5*. If i had one of them at 4* then i could not unlock yoda.
For a 7* yoda you will need the team of 7* jedi.

You should be at a serious disadvantage to the P2W players who finance this game. Without them you wouldn't have a game to play so stop being a whiny freeloader.
The event was all explained in the forums, you can unlock him at 5* when you have 5x 5* Jedi and complete tier 5.
It's funny that im f2p and i will get yoda 5* by the end of the event. Also, if you love the sith, then you wont need yoda. Problem solved
See the funny thing is...that I'm not a free loader and have over $700 invested...I'm just stating it as it appears. EA has come up with yet another way for us to dump a ton of money into the game to get that one big advantage that will more than likely shift the balance in the game once again to those who can dump a ton of cash into the game...there is no fairness in this for the handful who cannot afford it...I'm stating this for the fact that they didn't say he will unlock at 5☆....if you read my post...they only elude to him unlocking once you have a full team of 7☆ jedi.....nothing about a 5☆ yoda.....this is simply another way of making the rich richer....
It is another way to give you a choice to invest money. I for one am f2p with the exception of $50 which i got virtually nothing, and i reached rank 1 today against 27000 power with my 24100. Buying things in the game gives you a head start and not necessarily even a win. You can form a great team with easily farmable characters, but if you decide to pay, you can get a little better of a character.
If you looked at yoda in the game, he needs 145 shards so that means he WILL be unlocked at 5* FOR SURE.
did you really follow me from another thread? Are you really that ****? My sides can only go so far into space man lol. Yoda would be nice to have but I can wait. Too bad you're screwed with Poe being so nerfed and all, and with allll the money you must've invested in it. Thanks for making my night.
You get shards for completing each stage.
It takes 145 shards to unlock him and that is at 5*. You are so stubborn, just look at anything and you would know. You will learn in 12 hours that everyone was right and you were wrong. Why would they only have him unlocked at 7*. They are not completely dumb
Once players have completed Stage 5, they will have enough Shards to Activate the new character at 5 Stars.
That is in the february release notes.
Feel the dumb running through your veins
I'm guessing this is your first competitive mobile game? Most games like this you need to spend hundreds and hundreds on to even compete in one event. Then a couple days later and next event starts and once again you need to pay all that money to even think about competing let alone actually competing. Go try blood brothers for a month then comeback and say how this is p2w. I don't think 90% of the people that play this game actually know what p2w is.
With that said. You said you have been grinding sith? That's great because when the sith only event rolls around ( I'm guessing here, but with a Jedi only event only seems natruel ) you'll be set. Because I really think this is how all events will be. One sith, one rebel, one empire, ect. So no mater what, some events you just will not be able to compete in yet.
Yes I have 5 7* Jedi. No I don't have 5 7* sith. I don't think I have 5 7* of anything else except Jedi, so I might not be able to compete in next event. This is why I'm now looking at shards of toons I might need for other events.
O.k. It really could have been said nicer, but this has me laughing hard... Well played.
I dont play nice when this is my third time explaining it to this guy.
Just making sure he knows he is dumb lol, at least it made someone smile
ALSO, not all of these changes will be live in game until 2/10/2016 when a forced update will put all players on the same version of the game, example being character changes.

Good lord, here it is for everyone. From the general discussion forum, Feb notes post from EA_Jesse, go to section "first event featuring a new character", bullet four, last sentence. For the love of god let this die here!
Given the poe fiasco, who knows, they may change it last minute and make the requirement a team of six 8* Jedis just to mess with people and then sit back and laugh.
EDIT: No, you must complete the challenges in order and you cannot accumulate extra shards. No 5 x 7* Jedi, no 7* Yoda.

You don't even have to farm Yoda just 5 Jedi to 5* or 7* and in 20 minutes ill tell you if the 7 levels of events are easy.
Awesome keep us updated. I still want Yoda as collecting characters is fun but after seeing his kit he doesn't have the playstyle i'm looking for. I can see some great synergy with him though and should be fun to see how it pans out.
He has potential but mine is not geared or skilled up enough yet to use regularly.
Using Qgj 6* lead, 6* Poe, 4* old ben, 7* sid and 6* yoda...
The big issue was he hits weak so far since mine only has gear 6 level and skills only at rank 3. However he did some great buffs and debuts. The finest moment for him was absorbing/dodging a 7* Reys special attack. With full gear and skills he may be worth it with qgj speed boost he was able to act fairly fast.
I might need to rework my team so this was just a test run but I need to wait a week or so to upgrade his attacks and gear.
This is me. I've been playing since launch, working on Sith and Empire guys and only have 4 Jedi.
I don't want a bunch of Jedi but I would love to have Yoda. So I'm just SOL? That's just dumb.
I'm forced to either change everything I've been doing for weeks just to obtain one character or be completely locked out of ever having him.
Just terrible planning on this one.
Wrong, go reread the patch release notes sticky post, it says "Stage 2 requires five Jedi which are 2 Star or above, and so on up to Stage 7 which requires five Jedi at 7 Stars to get the final Shards needed to Promote the new character to 7 Stars! Once players have completed Stage 5, they will have enough Shards to Activate the new character at 5 Stars."
I already have him myself at 5*
How do you like him...does he seem way OP...or too hard drive to tell at only 5☆? His buff stealing capabilities give me the impression that his potential will be rediculess in a good way.
