An unfortunate effect of true randomness is that you could go on infinitely never getting another shard again, although unlikely it is a random possibility.
Most of us who got all our DT shards with no problem won't talk about how easy it was with no problems, but those few who are subjected to an unfortunate random possibility will claim conspiracy. That's why when I make a game with randomness I set a guarantee limiter when randomness has proven especially nasty.
