I'm at 49/65 for Old Ben so 201 shards to go. But the day they announced what we need (so 6 days ago I think?) I had 2/80 to unlock Old Ben. Think I can get it done?

6* G8 farmboy at 30/100 (only farming him in hard mode/guild shop/log ins atm. Got him to 6* in cantina first 2 days)
5* G8 old ben at 20/85 (farming him 3 days now, up 59 shards- decent average, 2 refreshes/ day)
i figure i'll be ready in 10 days. So, as long as the doesn't launch before Friday and lasts 7 days I'm good to at least try to unlock him
tons of gear laying around if needed as well, 1 month pre-farming for gk who will arrive at about the same time...

I already had Leia, R2D2 and Luke at 7* for months. My Old Ben and STH were both at 4* and some change when I started on them a week ago and had G0.
I used up all my excess gear to get everyone to G9 and used all my arena tokens. I can easily get Old Ben to 7* within a few days but the problem the STH.
So for STH I need to buy 27 more arena packs (unless I can manage 4 shards with luck from shard shop and GW)
With an average arena payout of rank 3 (800 tokens) plus the 200 tokens from dailies = 1000 tokens per 24 hours which nets me 12.5 shards per day. I went a little nuts and made an excel sheet that takes into account that I only buy one shard pack after arena payout time. Here are the results of my unnecessary madness:
Farmboy Luke - 7*, G8, lvl85
Leia - 7*, G11, lvl85
StH - 7*, G9, lvl85
R2D2 - 7*, G10, lvl85
Old Ben - 5*, G8, lvl67 - at 62/85 - so around 120 shards for OB to get to 7*

All 7* lvl 85 (except Old Ben, but he will be). STH & Leia g11, FBLuke & R2 g10 (missing a few salvages for g11 R2), Old Ben g9. Number Crunch zetaed by end of week.

I don't remember where the quote is, but CG_CapGasp has said that no event has been tailored for higher than a good g10 (I think it's the bonus tier for Forest Moon that is highest, at g10.5), because he wants to always allow brute force to succeed.

147 shards of old Ben ive got crystals enough for three refreshes a day until it happens so I should be good. Old ben and farmboy at gear 9, R2 at gear 10, and StHan and Leia at gear 11, i have more gear for gear 9s if necessary
