He has like 5% potency at gear 9, does it get significantly higher later without mods? Isn't his TM removal and debuff infliction dependent on his potency? How can it be so low and yet be effective?
He has an ability that gives +40% potency. Moreover, potency isn't that important in Arena because tenacity is usually abysmal (or unreachable) and the chance to resist is a flat 15% (or 100%). It's only a thing in Raids.

I found on the rancor it made a huge difference. Then I used BB8 covert intell to boost further. He only resisted a few times and it helped me solo it much quicker.
Or rng holds the key to the gate, my last solo had CLS TMr resisted quite often even with ten down as did Jyn in P3-4. Rancor ended up getting a few strikes and I had to intervene with Thrawn to boost prot back up

Potency in arena is extremely useful for characters like raid han who has low potency.
CLS has good potency, so use a protection or offense cross.

I've just switched my CLS cross from potency to protection for arena. You better not have screwed up my next Rancor solo.
Lol @TVF
You can always switch to a potency cross for rancor, but you dont really need it at all. Once you get tenacity down, no potency is needed.
And although it is not in the skill description, i have heard from several people that tenacity down doesnt do a tenacity check or it cant be resisted. It seems to be the case for me in game ... tenacity down always lands even when buff immunity does not.
But for rancor, you can solo without potency cross for sure.

As far as I know, Tenacity Down isn't described as unresistable anywhere in-game. However...
If you go to swgoh.gg, pick any character that applies tenacity down, click on their ability that actually applies TD, click on the link to the mechanics for that ability (View ability name Mechanics), click on one of the ability levels to open it, and scroll down until you see the tenacity_debuff label on the right and/or the tenacity down icon on the left... read the description for that ability. It very clearly says "Effect is unresistable".
Regards to TMR, it doesn't seem like a lot so preference is protection or offense on the cross as well. Other than that, speed is must from mods.
Taking it off from mods, I find CLS to operate well, he needs a good roster like any other toon. Raid Han and a taunter or stealth provider is required. Do others use him in mainly DS teams? Essentially using zeta IBAT for others.

The TMR reduction resist seems to be affected by this as well, so i added one. Not sure if it helps

Since when?

Since forever, I believe.

Put an offense cross on CLS unless your's is really squishy.
Lol I switched again. Typical male, I can't commit.
I took a look and I was at 58k health/prot, and I'm also one gear piece from G12. So I dropped to 51k prot/health now to add offense.
You better be right too!
And he regains 40% health and protection.
I use offense, but protection could be good too.
Most importantly, get crit damage set on him. In offense mode, his crit chance is ridiculous.
Lol you really needed this team to solo it? CLS can solo ot alone you know
But ok.
Anyway it's more fun and faster with a full team.
