the timing of this maintenance to me shows that the gaming experience comes secondary to the business process of making money. not much lately has been considerate of the player base.
doing this during an active tw day is just wrong in my opinion but ea/cg never disappoints when it comes to making bad decisions
Right, cause clearly the superior business move is to schedule maintenance during a prime time when people are active - which you know, people typically spend money during the times they are active.
Or in other words, no business closes their doors at peak hours if they can avoid it.

So... "payout is in a half hour" is exactly the same as "in the middle of payout"
What a curiously non-linear sense of time you've got there, Malgrin.
Do you consider a payout to literally be the minute of payout?
Technically the maintenance ended at 2:17 Pacific time, but I had people unable to actually get in game until closer to 2:30. So, unless you were able to move to a decent spot an hour and 45 minutes before payout, or you're able to sit in top 10, that's eating into your time to climb -- I don't even get what your point is here. Yeah, it's literally not the middle of the payout at 30 minutes before, but that's your payout window. That's when you're climbing. If you can only get 3 attacks in before your payout hits (without refreshing), then that's probably costing your crystals.
Also, you might've missed my point about how people literally did miss their payout too?

Well yeah! This is a national crisis!
Please
Not for everyone, according to the other twenty three duplicate threads.
You still get payouts.
