How does Muting a Player Affect chat invites?

I’ve been getting ally and private in-game chat invites recently from people in my fleet shard. I’ve had to mute a couple of them. They’ve stopped inviting me to chat, but keep trying to ally me.

I’m curious if they are getting a “this player has muted you” alert or something, every time they try to invite me to chat?

Thanks.

They’re probably trying to invite you to your shard chat because you’re screwing with them at their payouts... Maybe accept the chat & figure out what they want? The best thing that happened to me in Fleet is when I was invited to my shard chat, FWIW.

Also, my fleet shard chat went out of their way to include me in the chat, even before I used Discord (where our Fleet shard chat is) & in-game direct messages were the only point of contact. Try responding. You might be happy you did... The alternative is if they determine you to be hostile & start targeting you intentionally (which I don’t condone, but it happens.) We are a friendly group in my chat & I am better off & happier now that I have a great group to share top payouts with. ✌️🖖

Honestly there is absolutely no reason for us not to have the December calendar posted by now. You did an update to unveil the Grand Arena and the teaser on Friday about C3PO coming to the game but nothing on the December calendar. It would be much appreciated if you would just post the calendar seeing as we are now 4 days in to the month.

I know what they are doing, that’s not my issue.

Are you actually saying that he shouldn't compete against them for payouts? What if his payout time is the same as theirs? He should either join them or accept a lower payout at the risk of being targeted? I have worked my butt off on my ships and I am now managing to stay in the top 50. And when I get the Chimera tomorrow I should be able to break into the top 25 or higher. And I'm sorry, but if I start getting messages from people telling me to stop trying to advance, oh well. The squad and fleet arenas are every man for himself and these people who have grouped together to control the top spots in their shards are nothing more than cheaters, in my opinion. We just had a guy leave our guild because he wanted to switch to being a F2P player so he joined a guild with his other shard mates so that they could work together and keep themselves at the top. And to say that if you don't work with them, they will likely target you, to keep you out of the top spots, is exactly why that should be considered cheating.

Keep being sanctimonious then! Ignore them even though they’re reaching out to you! Mess with them at their payouts even if it’s not your hour to battle up! When you cause problems for everyone else, it’s their fault, not yours!

Somewhat related inquiry here: I wan to try to contact some of my fleet shard mates so that I can avoid hitting people close to their payouts / come to an arrangement with the people who shar my payout. However, every single person’s profile has the chat/invite buttons grayed out.

I’ve checked my chat settings and confirmed that I’m allowing incoming messages from everyone. I’m not locked behind a minor account that would block chat. Is there a setting somewhere that I’m missing, or does everybody in my fleet shard have chat blocked?
I demand Grand Arena Elo ratings.

Try looking at their guild name, then check swgoh.gg to see if they (or any of their guildmates) have their ally code listed (if you’re trying to communicate in-game) so you can DM them. If you use Discord, it’s probably easier to find their Discord handles through swgoh.gg, as I find more people list those.

    Nope.
What if his payout time is the same as theirs?
Then those that share a payout duke it out for top spot.
He should either join them or accept a lower payout at the risk of being targeted?
As I said in my message, I do not condone such things, & my shard chat has never engaged in targeted harassment of anyone.
I have worked my butt off on my ships and I am now managing to stay in the top 50. And when I get the Chimera tomorrow I should be able to break into the top 25 or higher.
    Congrats!
And I'm sorry, but if I start getting messages from people telling me to stop trying to advance, oh well.
If someone told me to stop trying to advance, personally I’d say a lot worse than “oh well”...

I don’t think you appreciate how most shard chats work - they mostly exist to keep people from getting knocked down at their payouts by others battling at random times outside their own.
And to say that if you don't work with them, they will likely target you, to keep you out of the top spots, is exactly why that should be considered cheating.
I said no such thing. Again, I don’t agree with those that would gang up on someone else, but not everyone in this world is nice & it’s a risk you take by ignoring them completely. You’re entitled to your opinion, but that doesn’t make shard chats cheating. It’s cooperating for the betterment of the whole, instead of being totally self-centered. I wish you luck in your fleet endeavors...

Wow. I really didn’t mean to stir the hornets nest that is SWGOH

Let’s pretend the reason people are inviting me to chat is to sell me Canadian viagra and tell me about Scientology. I’m curious if they know I’ve muted them when they continue to invite me to chat.

And to answer your question: likely not, or they wouldn’t keep trying...
