Edit: to be clear legecy android users only have 5 days until 6/18 when the new update rolls out and their phones will not be supported. CG sent out the wrong date to all its players many of which will not read the forums.

I have a new phone, and to be clear Legecy Android Users have only 5 days to do anything about it as per the dev post saying they will not be supported starting 6/18. Just pointing out that they sent out the wrong to date to a vast majority of the payers many whom don't even read the forums.

This update is going to effect a lot more phones than listed if 6.0 is the minimum android version required...

First, is this supposed to be comprehensive list?

I'm on Android 4.4 and my phone isn't listed, so I imagine there are others like me who were not considered when you were running the analysis that resulted in you thinking this update would only effect a small # of people....

Maybe I'm the small #, but in the past internal testing has missed things like Han in p3, Anakin with Revan, etc. I'm concerned that maybe the real # of players is larger than your testing indicates and actually like the game and don't want it to die.

Could you share how you came up with the small # of players? For example can you tell what version android players are using?

Basically I'm concerned that an intern Googled what phone versions were 6.0 and less and compiled a list that was used for testing and the number is actually understated.

And iPhone 6 users (and prior) will be next! CG already has an impossible time course correcting their major screw up with the most recent QoL update a few months back... will be a lot easier for them to simply stop supporting these devices too, rather than keep telling us, that they will “look into the bug” They will no longer be forced to lie about trying to fix it... and we will know we were right all along... CG wins, customer loses

How about every 5 years? The notice references older devices running Android 6.0 or lower. Android 6.0 was released almost 4 years ago. Android 7.0 was released almost 3 years ago. So if someone is running an old device with an outdated operating system, that's not really CG's problem...they have no control over Android and iOS updates to their respective operating systems. Google doesn't even support Android 6.0 any longer...so it makes perfect sense that GOH isn't going to continue to work with it.

MOST of these devices are only 3-4 years old. As for the don't you have new phones comments the answer for MANY players is NO! Very few people spend $800 or more per year on their phone. Also 5 days to find,figure out how to pay for, order and receive a new device is ABSURD! My brother plays or in 5 days used to play this game. He bought a zenfone 2 last year because his old phone died. He DOES NOT have the ability to replace his phone in 5days!
To add insult to injury some of the devices on this legacy list ARE NEW! The ASUS ZenFone 6 for example was released on May 19th 2019. LESS THAN 1 MONTH AGO!

You are confusing the ASUS ZenFone 6(A601CG) with ASUS ZenFone 6(ZS630KL). The A601CG was released back in like 2014, the ZS630KL is the new one and is not on that list.

If you made a purchase 6 hours ago you can contact Google support or the apple pay support team and ask for a refund. Will be granted based on the evidence from today. Not really theft to update technology though, just bad timing tbh. Sucks, but there is an easy work around for it.

and what about the purchases i made over 30 days ago as well? the point being this has been a known issue with the devs for many months and they did not inform us it would be coming. april i spent over $200.

To be fair though, Android 4.4 and 5.x are like 5+ years old and not much newer software supports these versions anymore you can pick up a more up to date version of Android on a phone or tablet for less than $200 (or just run it on a Android emulator). It won't just be an OS issue, there will be a hardware capability issue as well

This is different issue to the iPhone 6 where at least you can upgrade to iOS 12

The problem the iPhone have is then a hardware issue, where newer ios releases might not enable some features as the older hardware does not support.

Prestige ELITE 8Qi. they are still avail on amazon today. if you are going to buy a tablet just to play a game when you are not home why buy a new one unless the game makers tell you you will need a newer model soon? i would bet this has been in development since before i even bought the tablet. no offense but its rather disappointing the trolls on these forums like to jump on players for expressing their opinions and challenging their merits.

i am not missing anything, i bought a tablet last year with the sole purpose to play this one game on the 3 days a week i travel. cannot use my phone, cannot use bluestack which i use at home. giving someone 5 days notice that the purchases they made 6 hours ago will be worthless is nothing more than 'theft by deception', which is a crime up to a first degree felony.

What tablet? I find it hard to believe you bought a tablet last year that is on that list.

Prestige ELITE 8Qi. they are still avail on amazon today. if you are going to buy a tablet just to play a game when you are not home why buy a new one unless the game makers tell you you will need a newer model soon? i would bet this has been in development since before i even bought the tablet. no offense but its rather disappointing the trolls on these forums like to jump on players for expressing their opinions and challenging their merits.

You don’t know how long it’s been in development, players defending the game aren’t “trolls” (that’s just a cheap shot), and you’re claim that they “deceived” you has no warrant.

I am old enough to remember when computer companies told you that you would never need more than enough 1 mega byte of memory. People were not using computers for pictures let alone, games, music, videos etc... point is sometimes old technology just doesnt support newer stuff. It sucks when that happens, but it does indeed happen quite often.
