I had to look at those packs a few times before I realized they were serious. The Aurodium Resource Cache and the GL bundles are laughably overpriced. Clicking back and forth between the $99.99 Hyperdrive bundle and the gear from any of these and I just don't understand where CG is coming up with these numbers.

The Hyperdrive Bundle is meant to look like an absolutely amazing deal though. To be fair you shouldn't compare it to any other pack.

The pricing on these is certainly way too overstated. No lvl 1 mod on this planet is worth 10 dollars, and 6 mods certainly won't be worth 80 dollars. For comparison, you can buy yourself a high-end expensive EA game with that price. Gambling on mod stats isn't worth the money.

Just because they have 1 more base speed stat doesn't guarantee maxed speed secondary, and as someone said earlier, that's a really scammy bait and switch to make it seem different, yet in the end make it all the same.

Based on gambling luck for mod stat rolls, availability for the by-products to Slice them and that barely half a million credits, this pack is AT WORST worth half it's price, not even. You can, assuming you are all out on mats, only get a single one of the purple mods to gold, and you can only slice one of them to 6E, that is very underpromising.

This is deadass a scam of a pack.

These packs are terrible value. Why does it matter? They put out great/good value packs sometimes, most are debatable, some are bad. These are bad, don’t buy them.

I call this a F2P advantage. Let’s this absorb some of the spenders money without giving them any advantage 🤣

This, 100%!!! I have been saying this exact same thing in my guilds discord! This is the perfect way to get whales who wanna whale just because to spend money while not really harming the FTP or dolphin at all. Most people should be happy about these packs.

CG will never stop doing this. I wonder how many suckers would actually buy this.

I've been farming/purchasing thousands and thousands of mods over 2.5 years and have never seen a starting +6 secondary. Maybe in the old system but until this pack came along it's the first time I've personally seen one in-game. I've seen screenshots, but most people say they're "old mods". Like the double % primary/secondary ones too.

    Guess I'll keep farming.

What is wrong with you CG , these $75.00 packs is ridiculous , sheesh , you put a letter out saying something about the crisis in this and you charge $75.00 for 6 mods and some mod upgrades .. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!

“Never before seen” let’s hopefully it’s never seen again

These packs are hilarious. The fact they would even offer these is beyond belief. I hope people aren't foolish enough to get these especially in these times where a lot of the workforce is jobless. The morals for releasing these were definitely put on the back burner. Shame on you CG for even creating these.

But that’s the point, it’s just a money grab on false hopes as it *could* be higher than the basic 5 speed.

I dont think you understand what you are looking at, 1 as stated above, 6 base speed exist and is out there for anyone to get on any mod, 2 - This is not a chance of getting this mod, that is the mod you are buying, thats why they are showing the stats.

This is not like a mod when you look at an event reward where the stats are not listed and roll once you complete the event.

I have never seen a base 6 speed, they aren’t in stores or regular mod farming - please do show me evidence if this is untrue. False as in what is the actual probability of it getting a lot more speed? If they were 6E mods, well then, yes you would see what you are getting.

This is completely against the spirit of the current status of the country and the world and while many things CG has done really never bother me, this just grates on me. I love the game but have a hard time justifying supporting greed such as this. Hopefully the majority of players are smarter than to buy one of these packs. Go donate 75 bucks to your local charity instead.

CG is again playing with the addiction of people knowing they want to have this 1 Speed advantage. You will need a lot of luck but there is the possible advantage to have one more speed than anybody else have...and in this case it (+6) is only available for money...this is p2w at its best...it would simply be not possible to reach the same level without paying money...ok there is a risk you will get nothing but some whales will be the lucky guys...and I think this is only the first step...others will follow...but nice strategy to do it in parallel with gift to keep the community calm...

I bought the 24.99 pack, they both rolled to 10. So, yeah not buying the other packs.

This is a strange reason to decide to buy one pack and no more.

You know what you are getting when you buy. Some mods with equal chances to roll any of the stats on each roll. Having the result you don't want on two mods has no influence whatsoever on the next mods.

Buy or don't buy based on the cost and the chance of the mods rolling. Don't buy or not buy based on your previous buy.

How is this a scam or an extortion?

If I go to Walmart to buy groceries, are they scamming me by putting all sorts of items I don't need on their shelves?

It's not a scam, but like everything else monetized about this game, its definitely unethical.

Its not unethical, its what the games economy will support. Its totally disgusting to you and me, but we dont HAVE to buy it, just like I dont have to buy a car for $200,000, but other people will, and thats why there are $200,000 cars.
I dont have a problem with the cost of things in the game, my problem comes from lack of content to use it in, so thats why I dont spend anymore. Dont like...then dont buy. Simple as that.

Disagree. Everything about freemium is unethical because they are purposefully inducing and preying on addiction. Freemium games are intended to provide the same rush as gambling. That said, an argument can be made that, in some sense, freemium games are worse than gambling: real money goes in but can never come out. In the world of real-money poker, players are pitted against one another. The casino’s rake is best seen as a rental fee, or a service fee for providing players a venue. The rake is predictable and fair; players can choose to go elsewhere if they feel it is too high. The freemium rake is 100% and always will be.

If you were going to make that argument, you would likely be wrong, just on pure scale. the number of people bankrupt by gambling, or just spending (losing) money at casinos is much larger than those who have ever spent money on a freemium game. Also freemium games do nothing to "physically entrap" you.....casinos are designed to do so. You can't just cherry pick poker, you are comparing 2 whole systems.

why stop at a lolgambling/casinos comparison? let's move right to a crack addiction comparison! Obviously it's way better to sell a game for $60 or w/e new games cost, rather than literally free games, bc something something addiction.

Without that fallacy, freemium games wouldn’t be a fraction as profitable as they are.

I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem like TVF was questioning the fallacy itself, but that someone would use it as their "reason" for continuing to play a game. If you recognize that you have been **** into such a situation, why have you not left? At that point it doesn't become the fallacy, but something else (probably addiction, but also maybe just trolling the internet).

Plenty of addicts recognize they have a problem. It may take some time after that for them to actually then quit.

I’m addicted to this game in a couple of ways, luckily for me it’s not problematic and I’m enjoying it. Not everyone is the same 🤷‍♂️

Exactly my point, i do not believe the continued play of a game you believe to be predatory and no fun is because of some theory to explain why humans are not the perfect rational beings that economists want to people to be.
