UNIT NAME: Dark Trooper Moff Gideon
ALIGNMENT: Dark
CATEGORIES: Dark Side, Leader, Empire, Imperial Remnant, Tank
Key Attributes:
- Pulls Imperial Remnant team together and lifts it into relevance
- Basic damage scales based off target’s debuffs
- In Territory Wars, starts with Taunt, forcing enemy to generate Insight stacks by dealing damage
- He is built to bully enemy Turn Meter gains and help allies prosper when Turn Meter is manipulated positively or negatively
- Challenges certain Galactic Legends in TW and does well against those pesky Mara Jade and Juhani Omicron squads
Inspiration:
- Moff Gideon’s badass Dark Trooper phase 4 armor in The Mandalorian season 3
- Giancarlo Esposito always brings the energy to the role, and we wanted to capture that in the abilities.
- Inspired by his self-cloning program, Moff Gideon likes to work with other Moff Gideons. Finally, an in-universe explanation why two versions of the same character are on the same squad!
Strategy Tips:
- Time the use of Special 1 to get the most out of your Turn Meter reduction
- Save your revive for the opportune moment
- Works effectively with Imperial Super Commando (post touch-up) and Gar Saxon under a Maul lead
- Gideon understands that flesh is better than circuits, which is why he doesn’t work well with droid allies
FAQ:How do I acquire Dark Trooper Moff Gideon?
DTMG is the next Conquest character and you can start getting his shards with the next Conquest.
What squad do I use him with?
In Territory Wars he thrives leading the Imperial Remnant. In Grand Arena we know Iden with her Omicron likes to use some of these troopers, so his Mandalorian synergy should help provide an option for a Maulorians team when in that mode.
We know how crucial the Dark Trooper droid is to the Veers' led Imperial Trooper squad, so we made sure to balance Dark Trooper Moff Gideon's squad around not needing Dark Trooper on it to be powerful.
Can I preview him before I unlock him?
The Conquests featuring Dark Trooper Moff Gideon will have a consumable that will summon a Relic 9 DTMG with level 8 abilities for one battle.

ABILITIES:BASIC:Force Lance
Final Text:
Deal Physical damage to target enemy. Gain 1 stack of Insight (max 4) until the end of the encounter, and if the target had Daze, Offense Down, or Stagger, Stun them for 1 turn. This attack deals 10% more damage for each debuff on target enemy.
SPECIAL 1:Strategic Onslaught (Omicron) (Cooldown: 3) (Gear Unlock: Tier 2)
Final Text:
Deal Physical damage to all enemies and remove 10% Turn Meter for each stack of Insight on Dark Trooper Moff Gideon, which can't be evaded. Moff Gideon loses all stacks of Insight.
While in Territory Wars: Deal additional True damage and remove an additional 10% Turn Meter for each stack of Insight on Dark Trooper Moff Gideon. Inflict all enemies with Healing Immunity for 2 turns, which can't be resisted or dispelled.
SPECIAL 2:Unwavering Presence (Zeta) (Cooldown: 4) (Gear Unlock: Tier 4)
Final Text:
All allies gain Accuracy Up and Defense Up for 3 turns. Dark Trooper Moff Gideon Taunts for 2 turns, which can't be dispelled or prevented, recovers 30% Health and Protection, and calls target other ally to assist.
If Dark Trooper Moff Gideon is in the Leader slot, defeated Imperial Remnant allies are revived with 100% Health and Protection and Stealth for 2 turns. Otherwise, defeated Dark Side Mandalorian allies are revived with 30% Health and Protection and gain Retribution for 2 turns.
UNIQUE 1: Dark Trooper Beskar Armor (Zeta) (Omicron)
Final Text:
Dark Trooper Moff Gideon has +100% Critical Avoidance, +50% Defense, and +30% Max Health and Max Protection. At the end of his turn, he recovers 30% Protection. Whenever Dark Trooper Moff Gideon would be defeated, if he has 4 or more stacks of Insight, he recovers 100% Health, loses all stacks of Insight, and the weakest non-Galactic Legend ally is defeated instead.
If the allied Leader is a Dark Side Mandalorian: Dark Trooper Moff Gideon gains 25% Offense. Dark Side Mandalorian allies recover 20% Protection at the end of their turn.
While in Territory Wars: Dark Trooper Moff Gideon gains an additional 30% Max Protection and recovers 100% Protection on his first turn. He begins the battle with Taunt for 2 turns, which can't be dispelled or prevented, and 4 stacks of Insight. Whenever he receives damage, he gains a stack of Insight (Max 4) until the end of the encounter.
LEADER: Shadow Contingency (Zeta) (Gear Unlock: Tier 6)
Final Text:
Non-Droid Imperial Remnant allies have +75% Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Defense, and Offense.
If all allies were Imperial Remnant at the start of battle:
- Whenever an ally gains or loses bonus Turn Meter or a bonus Turn, they recover that much Health and Protection.
- Whenever an enemy gains bonus Turn Meter or a bonus turn, they lose 10% Defense, Offense, and Turn Meter until the end of their next turn
- Whenever Dark Trooper Moff Gideon uses a Special ability, all allies gain 10% Offense and Defense (stacking) until the end of the encounter
- Whenever Dark Trooper Moff Gideon begins his turn, all allied Moff Gideons gain 1 stack of Insight until the end of the encounter
- The first time each other ally is defeated each encounter, Imperial Remnant allies gain 100% Turn Meter
While in Territory Wars: Non-Droid Imperial Remnant allies have +75% Health and Mastery and +30 Speed. Whenever an Imperial Remnant ally Taunts, dispel all debuffs from all allies and all buffs from all enemies. Whenever an Imperial Remnant ally is revived, grant them a bonus turn.
Insight: Abilities gain additional effects based on the number of stacks.

How is a character earned by participation in the conquest mode a pay to get character?
It is literally the exact opposite of a pay to get character.
Gideon develops Dark Troopers. Uses them in battle. Copies their armor. "Does not work well with them." Is then shown with them in his ability animations.
A+
I had to snicker about that when I saw it too.

What's the problem?
captain drogan of the rebellion will one shot him like every other empire unit
So he'll revive Maul and Canderous under LV lead? Interesting.
Kit looks fine, but why couldn't we get an LS unit?
I finish every conquest within 11 days by spending 150 crystals each day.
That is 1650 crystals. Now multiply that by 3 and it costs 4950 crystals to get a character to 7*.
I would rather spend 4950 crystals on a 7* character than 4800 crystals on 60 shards of a character in the Weekly Shipment store. Conquest characters are the best value by far in the game.
Pretty sure it's meant to give the option of using him with Gar Saxon and Imperial Super Commando.
What difference does the alignment make?
They could've made Jedi Knight Cal a Conquest and Malicos a Legendary unit and it would've been the same thing really
Not to mention the value you get beyond just the character. And the fact that you basically have a 3 month warning on farming what you need to gear and relic that character at unlock. That lead time is amazing. I've been able to take every conquest character to R7+ at unlock and have the zetas and omicrons I planned on applying ready and waiting. Seriously one of the most F2P friendly ways of getting characters in the game.
141 LS characters in the game and only 112 DS already. We need way more DS characters!
Fair, but using that logic as well it's then 5-1 (as Reva was a DS TB 'Legendary' toon).
It's just slanted is all. There should be more balance to these releases, and we got Ben - a LS lifter - at approximately the same cycle last year. We haven't gotten a GL lifter since, and as you showed above, only 1 LS toon.
Some of us like Jedi, and Rebels, and characters from the Andor show that are apparently being completely forgotten - it sure would be nice to show every faction equal love.
Or Paz Visla and Axe Woves and Koska Reeves. Or Gungan faction with Boss Nass and JarJar.
Gideon will have 100% crit avoidance, I don't think Drogan is hitting for +100k without a crit. Plus it won't one shot him as he'll have 4 stacks of insight.
How much Health/Prot for a bonus turn? 1?
