There's blood in the water, and the complaining swarm. They have created a firestorm of group think where rarely do new original ideas emerge from these forums. Only the passed around talking points from F2P and small time investors not happy they're not #1 in their shard in their timezone and demand EA/CG cater to their every whim -- even if proven contradictory.
There is a simple solution to your problems. Stop Complaining, and stop doing the things that make you upset. Problem solved.
what an ugly thing to say... does this mean we're not friends anymore?

So again, it's easy to stop complaining, by stop doing the things that make you upset.

There are legit complaints though and people are voicing them. I see nothing wrong with that.
It is pretty obvious that the responses to said complaints is just going to be to maintain the status quo... so it is indeed time to quit complaining and accept that or not and continue to test the releases for them and log the bugs.
I would still like my other 10 chewie shards and haven't heard @EA_Jesse speak to that??? I didn't ask for them or anything but yet somehow they set the expectation of 30 and I only got 20 lol
Can we pretty please with fur on top have our other 10?
I can see you didn't read my posts. I never complained, and you are clearly mistaken.
So, the group think continues!
@medetec you were never one to follow the crowd. Thanks for your input.
When a problem is so common, forum vets/mods encourage people not to make new threads, but to search an existing one and add to it. That, and posts being deleted. So the forum community does not encourage original thoughts, and rarely ever has.
It's probably a bit of both. The forum has always been full of complaints, but after the mods update it's just ridiculous. Oppinions are contagious. Seeying people have the same issues with the game as you have is also encouraging to get more upset about it. Smaller shared issues get totally blown out of proportion.
Associating deleted posts to the idea the forum doesn't encourage original thoughts is a prime example of the group thought on the forums. Posts are deleted for TOS reasons, not because there's a conspiracy to stifle creative thinking. Come on man!
I do not feel I am owed anything but I do voice my opinion. The devs are free to make a product that they are happy with and feel serves their purpose. But what happens when people stop playing? Do you keep pushing your dream forward or do you stop and listen to your player base? If the game you want to make continues to make people upset then why would you continue down that path. One reason: MONEY.
The devs know that the old spenders will leave but new ones will replace them. But that can only hold true for so long. At some point you will anger too many people and your dream will die.
I am not asking Ea/CG to cater to my every whim. What I AM doing is voicing my opinion on my feelings of the game. I am happy with most of the content but the complete lack of regard for the player base makes me mad. They went silent for a week or more and then came back with some feel good update that basically said "We heard your voices and decided not to listen."
Who asked for Wedge and Biggs to be reworked for better synergy? I haven't seen thread after thread asking for that. How about a Teebo fix? Or at least explain why I can complete 11 nodes of GW with one team but for some reason the 12th node wipes out my entire roster? Is that supposed to be fun?
Until the devs step up and actually address some issues with meaningful answers a lot of people are going to be unhappy and that leads to complaining. Not because we feel we are owed something but because we have a passion for this game and Star Wars overall.
Well it's a good thing that'll only last a few days! Having fun is not WAI, we have learned.
More examples of group thought. You've worked yourself into an hysteria over a game designed for entertainment, regurgitating same trite talking points. Nothing creative here, just move along.
You offer no reason why my post is group thought and just dismiss it with a wave of your hand. How does that help this game move forward?
Where did I display hysteria in my post? Was it because I mentioned GW? Are you spenders having so much fun with your game that us peasants aren't allowed to even ask for the same experience?
Why is asking for content to work as advertised "group thought"? Do you have a degree in psychology that you can't get paid to use and feel the need to expound your ideas here?
Groupthink is a term defining when people make excuses and forgive faults in order to belong to a group (political, religious, cultist, fraternity, gamer, etc).
In fact OP is actually a form of groupthink ...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink
please elaborate on that last fact ?
Guess the OP needs to rethink their chosen terms.
Well I did read your post and it sounded like many other complaint threads I've read that complain about the complainers. Generally end the same way "Stop complaining and go away."
/groupthink over
Lol, I've had posts deleted that were no where close to TOS, and I've posted some very borderline stuff previously. One was simply, "lol, I see what you did there". So, your idea that moderation is applied strictly according to rule, is somewhat false. While it may be most of the time, you can't account for those actions that occur outside of what you expect. Unless you are a current mod, or have experienced it directly, your counter-argument has no grounds. That would be like saying police officers NEVER act outside of the law, and we all know how ignorant of an idea that is, as they are human and are subject to devious behavior like everyone else.
Funny, because you are finding yourself falling into the "group thought" of the devs/mods being infallible. Such hypocrisy...
I can read the wiki link, i would love to see you explain why you think the OP is a example of groupthink. Simply saying "its not about complaining at all. Read the wiki link" is far from an explaination.
The group the OP was talking about is obviously the forum community. The harmony or conformity is that the rather large mayority of the forum users feel the same way. They try to minimize conflict amongst eachother and reach a consensus that everybody dislikes ea/cg and the game, nobody should spend etc. To anyone who disagrees and actually likes the game they just repeat everything that is wrong with it over and over and over. Some excuses are used alot to convince themselves they are a 100% correct in their observations and oppinions.
With a little bit of rational thinking you can easely see why the moderators remove some threads, yet some people act like its a crime against humanity that the moderators dare to remove their threads and silence them! It's allmost like they feel oppressed by ea/cg/moderators. Why would ea/cg allow people to discourage THEIR costumers to buy THEIR product, on THEIR own forum?
Doesnt it make alot more sence to just quit the game you arent enjoying anymore than feeling oppressed by something you actually choose to be a part of ? Or do they actually like the game, but just conform to the popular consensus and start activily complaining to fit in ?
i dont fully support what i wrote, but it fits "groupmind" much better than the OP.
As for dissent, feel free, it's your choice. I'm from USA, where people are allowed to express their ideas. But I don't buy it, that the game is as bad as the group thinkers say who dismiss entirely a fun game. At the core of the idea that this is a terrible game is the spirit of entitlement. Deep down, those complaining are trying to manipulate the outcome to their benefit at the expense of others. To heck with my neighbor, I want to win and I want to win now. If it weren't for this desire to win, the complaints have nothing to stand on, but would instead readily accept SWGOH for what it is, a phone game that's fun to play and pass the time. But as I said, and the only thing I said, is if you're unhappy with your entertainment, that's on you, not the devs or EA/CG. Once you see that, Then you'll be happy. You see, at the core, I am concerned for the well-being of my complaining gamers.
They used an addiction/gambling creating freemium model, and that is the outcome. They have a dedicated base of players who love and hate the game at the same time, but can't just easily walk away due to time and/or money investments.
Sure, it's very logical for them to delete and moderate posts that will make them look bad or lose money. Seeing how these are official forums, that type of cover up should be expected.
