I seem to be having issues with enemies becoming unselectable in combat for no reason - there are no enemies taunting or similar buffs active. In PVP this spells automatic loss - especially when I've been focusing on one enemy character only to lose the ability to finish them off when they have almost no life yet.
Teebo's stealth ally ability doesn't seem to work in PVP. Where does it state that in the character description? I wouldn't have invested resources in him if I'd read that.
Which wookie would you like to choose as a hero for the next battle..?
But without a doubt the most frustrating thing I've encountered has to be the data cards - I've saved up shards and invested in 4 of the 350 shard rewards so far - two have been characters I already have and have a 100% chance of having since they are awarded during the tutorial phase. For one of those I get 7 shards back as a consolation prize - after saving and spending 350 shards. I'd be furious if I'd actually spent money to buy those shards and I can guarantee you that I won't as a result. Basically with the extremely low odds it seems of getting the character the data card description implies you might get you would need to either be saving for a few weeks to get a higher data card (which I extremely doubt new players will do) or spending a minimum of $14 for four disappointing cards. I played a few weeks ago and had accumulated a decent bunch of characters until EA 'heard customer feedback' and hiked process and lowered odds. Apparently people had 'asked for that and EA had heard'. It's beyond me why someone would ask for that.
Which brings me to pricing. With Star Wars Battlefront and Fallout 4 being released you're pricing character packs at the same cost as triple A titles. I can see how the 'either persevere with almost no chance of drawing a good character or spend too much for the ability to overpower those who won't spend money' positioning strategy might make sense to some but on a platform built on micro-transactions and five dollar game purchases you're coming in a little hard with $38-79.99 character bundles.
Just some thoughts.

The only thing to do is complain and not spend money.
Also his debuff does not remove defensive buffs from enemies. Again there is nothing in the description to advise on this. A potentially awesome character who either just didn't get finished in development or doesn't crack up to what they descriptions says he should be.
Hiked prices and lowered odds? I don't think you know what you're talking about.
Back in beta before the global launch there were two higher tier card sets, Chromium and Auridium (? I can't remember the name exactly now). You used to be able to buy them as single cards or as a 4x or 10x pack but it cost more than what it currently does.
The thing was, they didn't exclusively drop characters/shards. They also had a chance to drop credits and upgrade materials. Basically the same as the current Bronzium cards, only in higher quantities.
While the 10x packs said they guaranteed you at least one 4 star character drop, the single cards did not. You could have spent 300-450 crystals to buy a Chromium/Auridium card and potentially only end up with 75k credits for your trouble or some upgrade materials (yes this was actually a thing).
The "feedback" you're talking about relates to them changing the card system to what it currently is. Now when you spend crystals on Chromium cards, you ONLY get character shards or potentially a full character. In my opinion this is a MUCH better system than the one before global launch.
Is it frustrating when you don't get a full character drop when you buy a single Chromium card now? Sure, of course it can be, 350 shards is a lot. But if you really want a chance at a full character to drop then be patient and save up for the 4x or 8x packs that can give you 1 or 2 full characters.
If you would rather have the old system where you would spend crystals only to get materials of credits, then I'm sure if you complained enough EA would "hear your customer feedback" and revert it back again.
I play MFF and spend there ~150€/Month.
Why?Because i can buy there Biometrics=Hero Shards in the Shop for the Hero i want.
No RNG.
I buyed there Rank up Tickets(5*/6*) and Mega Rank Up Ticket to upgrade a 1* to 6*(max).
In GoH i only buyed the Heroine Pack.
I hate RNG in every Game.
If you did indeed spend $60 on IAP only to receive so little, my guess is that anyone reading this like myself will NEVER purchase a thing. You could have bought a game for a console at that cost and had more to show for the money. EA needs to come to reality, this game will fail if the pricing or odds don't change....
No, actually, it won't. There are people who will gladly shell out $1000 a month on this game. That's what EA is after.
I just stopped playing a game I had been playing for a year because after actually spending a lot of time and money on it, I realized I could NEVER advance until I got a lucky drop in their equivalent of chromium packs. At least EA offers other ways to get good stuff.
I do think the shard drop rate on missions is too low and the cost of energy too high, but believe me, this game is NOT going to fail over $50 IAPs. There's billions being made on this stuff, mostly off people with high disposable incomes and, sad to say, gambling problems.
If there are people out there who will happily spend $1000 a month (o.O) on any game for a year before realizing they will never get what they are hoping for from the game then yeah - anyone would be glad to have your money and they will target you.
Some people - including myself - have questioned the positioning of this game's pricing - especially when you can buy a bunch of triple A titles for less that promise satisfaction but if there is this demographic out there happy to spend $1000 a month to support a habit then EA will be looking for your money. But they could satisfy themselves with more peoples money with a more competitive pricing structure rather than hope the $1000 compulsive addictive buyer market comes through for them. Time will tell.
$1000 a month? That's just ridiculous but if you say so w/e...
There are people who pay $20,000 for stereo turntables. I saw a show once where some celebrity showed off his $7,000 speaker cables.
Whatever, people get to choose how they spend their money, that's what freedom is about. I could spend $1000 a month on this if I wanted to, I just don't, but if others want to that's fine. I like the challenge of trying to beat them anyway.
Some people are trying to give constructive feedback to the devs not muse about pie in the sky demographics.
Look if you are absolutely right and there are enough people out there who happily spend $1000 a week for RNG content then this game will prosper and I have to concede you are right. But if not then any dev will want to hear feedback from their potential buying market. Fantasy demographics won't help them in any way.
The model is based on "whales", the small percentage of people who will spend vast amounts of money because they want to be the best in a competitive game. That's why people will spend $1000s on this and not on console games, they are competing with others.
I agree that not many of these are really rich people who are spending money they don't need. The one thing I hate about the mobile model is that it is designed to exploit those with impulse control or gambling tendencies. Basically, games like this are legal casinos because they pay out something other than cash.
The sensible majority of players exist in games like this for one reason: to be beaten by the "whales" and to attract new ones.
For me, my limit would be around $100 a month. That's chump change for me, really, it's $3 a day.
To be fair, the current version of Marvel Future Fight isn't the same as how the game was when it first launched. I was also a beta player for that game and played MFF up until recently.
When the game first launched, the IAP was also just as random as Galaxy of Heroes is right now. You couldn't always buy the exact biometrics you wanted for a character unless you were paying for specific team bundles with crystals (paid for with money) or the Cash character packs.
Biometric drops from hard missions were just as bad if not worse than the current drop rate of shards in this game.
It took them months before they gradually changed the system so that it's much easier now to target exactly who you want to farm bios for and now it is extremely easy to get biometric drops. It's like they're just handing them out now. You don't even need to play the game to get bios, just log in once a day and claim the free 1*-4* Hero Box for 8 free biometrics of your choice.
Rank up tickets and Mega rank up tickets weren't introduced into the game until 2 months after the game had been launched.
It's unfair to compare that game to GoH when this game has only been launched globally for 2 weeks.
I very much hope that Capital Games will take a leaf out of Netmarble's book and adopt similar changes to IAP but we can only wait and see what happens.
I'd be happy to drop $25-$50 or whatever more I feel like per month (I'm an attorney so I make a decent buck...but not dropping thousands on a mobile game kind of money). However, I don't really feel that chromium is even worth it unless I'm committed to buying enough chromium to max out these chromium-only characters. Personally, I think the model would be just fine if every single character had at least 1 hard mode that I could grind shards on. At least then I wouldn't *feel* like my money spent on chromium packs was wasted. As it stands, you stand a pretty big chance of getting a trashy number of shards for characters that ultimately are total trash because you can't upgrade them. That 4* Old Ben just isn't going to cut it compared to some guy I farmed to 7* with Cantina energy, no matter how much I want him.
So, for the time being, I'll stick with my free crystals giving me 2 energy refreshes and 1 cantina energy refresh each day. I might consider the long-term crystal bundles. However, until something changes, chromiums are total trash and aren't worth my money.
Pretty steep P2W method for a game that is so new.
Hopefully this is remedied. I really enjoy it so far.
I'd love to see some actual demographics of the players of SWGOH because I can imagine way less than 10% of players spend over $100 on this. I'd also guess that most people play free without IAP like myself and the majority of IAP's made by players average between $20-50 maximum. They would have made more money charging $4.99 for the game and then charging say $20 for that vault of crystals and similar pricing for Chromium, like that 8-Pack of Chromium should be $10 considering that no characters are guaranteed.
I've been doing budgeting for I.T. related projects for almost 25 years in my career and I can say doing the quick math that EA is losing money by being greedy and my pricing strategy would have made them far more money. Just some of my thoughts.....
