The retribution buff does let taunters counter. I expect since Sun auto taunts against buffed enemies this dovetails with Scimitar in interesting ways sometimes

Sun Fac's ship taunt wouldn't make a huge difference tbh, as the Scimitar will give one ship Retribution (100% counter chance) and Protection up for 2 turns and then all the other ships will get stealth for 2 turns so you're essentially forced to attack that ship with retribution unless they bring in a reinforcement after the Scimitar uses its special.
