How can you even justify that comment? Rewards (double or not) are based on RNG. You talk like you've never gotten hosed by RNG before. Have you ever dropped 120 cantina energy only to get 0 shards? Guess what, 0 x 2 = 0. You can't determine whether or not double rewards are in effect based on the results of 360 energy expenditure. Abysmal results could just as easily by you getting hosed by RNG, just as it is any other day.

If you're referring to people not checking to see if the shard count under the 'possible rewards' section shows 2 or not, then you are making the very poor assumption that newer players are supposed to know that that number will actually change

Double drops aren't just shards. Cantina currency is a set amount every time you do the node. It's easy to tell if that is doubled or not.

I hate to be that guy, but I'm dying here looking at all the people who are posting about having spent loads of crystals on cantina energy because of the double drops that were supposed to be happening. Were you not paying attention to the actual rewards you were getting?

Never, never, NEVER trust an update to go without a hitch. I feel bad for you guys, but not for the reasons you guys feel bad for yourselves.

    Total agreement...my experience was something like 2, 2, 2, 0, 0, 0, 2 and then 1.

To everyone saying, "Oh well, mistakes happen, everyone needs to stop being upset." That might be a valid statement the first time an event or update didn't work as planned. Maybe even the second time, but I've been playing this game since November of 2016, and not 1 major update and several events have not worked in that time. There has also been unbelievably poor communication from the devs each and every time. When are the double drops happening? Well we don't know. When were they supposed to start? Well, we don't know. Does this remind anyone else of the QoL update? I'm a software designer, so I have more sympathy than most for bugs, but EA/CG is well past my threshold for tolerance or understanding on this front. They have almost never delivered on their promises on time, or without some kind of issue. And the ridiculous lack of clear communication is unacceptable regardless. I for one will not be spending another dime on this game until the devs get their **** together, and if you are tired of this, you should do the same. At the end of the day, the only thing EA/CG cares about is the money we give them. If we stopped giving them money, they would fix these problems to get us to spend again. It really is that simple.

I couldn't agree more. It seems as though nothing is tested before release...? Poor workmanship for a company that works for Lucasfilm. Frankly I've expected more and dealt with less. And don't even get me started on the abortion that is called ship battles.

And therefore have no staff for when things go wrong

The event went live at 1am CST here in the US. They probably had one junior employee sitting there reading a porno and pounding his pud when the red alarm bell on the top of his monitor started going nuts. I'm sure a phone call was made to some sleepy supervisor who told him to keep pulling it and chill, they'd fix it in the morning after a few pots of whiskey infused coffee and eightballs were mowed down at the morning meeting.

    Lets keep it real though

Double drops aren't just shards. Cantina currency is a set amount every time you do the node. It's easy to tell if that is doubled or not.

That's a valid argument, but I've only been playing since mid-March, and up until this point I working under the assumption that double drop rates only applied to shards. There really hasn't been anything to tell us otherwise. EA has not been very specific about what it means, and the only thing anyone in the forums talk about are the shards.

"Drops to me means...." is not really a great indicator of what drops actually are. That you've only been playing for a month is a valid issue -- you haven't been through double drops before, so you don't know what to expect.

That the forum only talks about shards is because that's what people are focused on.

Agreed on the importance of the shards...and that's what I was focusing on when I ran the sims.

My point on this is not that EA made some earth shattering mistake...things like this happen especially when we are dealing with a game that is going on 24 hours at throughout the world. I was more addressing those that are mocking others for spent crystals and energy.

    UPDATE 2 AM 4/13 PST

Unfortunately, we will be removing the Event, Packs and all related messaging until further notice.

We (likely @CG_Kozispoon  ) will be posting tomorrow with updates on the event as we move forward.

Thank you all again VERY much for all your passion and support for !

So are we gonna have to wait another 24 hours to get an explanation on what the heck is going on?

EA Jess gave an update less than an hour before you posted. Reading is a skill.

As is looking at the "Possible Rewards" for Cantina drops.

Is this a disaster? Sure - in the sense that they promoted an event that ended up being bugged and had to be postponed a bit.

Is this worth freaking out about? No freaking way. The entitlement and the desire to blame someone (or a group of people) who is doing their best, for a mistake that is trying to be rectified as quickly as possible, is appalling.

I would propose that a tsunami, earthquake, tornado qualifies as a disaster.

Not getting bonus loot in a video game/slot machine when we were "promised" does not qualify. IMO this should be categorized in the "bummer" category.

As a side note these 12 pages here & on Reddit makes me wonder if future game details like this will not be released to avoid this type of backlash because if they didn't announce it nobody would/could be upset about something they weren't aware of.

Unbelievable. I've spent tons of crystals on saving up cantina energy and pretty much all of my other resources on building up the Phoenix characters I needed for the event, which I had no intention of doing anything with otherwise.

CG was quite overwhelming in their cheerleading and buildup prior to the event here and on Reddit. It actually got me excited enough to dump my resources into it. And now this massively super ultra monumental mega epic fail greets me this morning.

What the hell is going on over there?

Help me out here....If you have no intention of doing anything with these toons/ships aside from the actual event why bother leveling/gearing them at all?

CG has already created a timed/scheduled release cadence for toons now & have followed through with on R1/Krooper/DN/ST/Sass so in a few short months you can grind them F2P & then you wouldn't have wasted anything or distracted yourself from your current farm?

    Is this resource spending regret?

EA does the announcements to increase excitement in the game, to get new players, and to get existing players to spend more money. So I doubt they will go away.

For example, I love R1 and like the R1 toons. So whenever they announce a R1 event, I am more tempted to spend or to buy.

Yep. Everyone cries and moans if the devs don't give a heads up on the exact date/time things will happen, but if the devs do, and then miss it for whatever reason, everyone cries and moans about that.

As a side note these 12 pages here & on Reddit makes me wonder if future game details like this will not be released to avoid this type of backlash because if they didn't announce it nobody would/could be upset about something they weren't aware of.

Yep. Everyone cries and moans if the devs don't give a heads up on the exact date/time things will happen, but if the devs do, and then miss it for whatever reason, everyone cries and moans about that.

TBF...this thread is about the game so not sure where else one discuss these issues. I mean #firstworldproblem is always an issue.

This is a third world problem btw Im connecting from the slums of Naboo

Can we get a timeframe at least for double drop? My energy is stacked since yesterday... I am wasting energy right now.

The Jedi that inhabit the temple and palace pretend like we dont exist so we drown our sorrows at the local cantina. Last night they jacked the rates then used a clever Jedi mind trick we suppose. Now we have no more credits to spend nect weekend at the cantina and payday is 2 weeks off.

We have a plan though. We have a Jedi on the inside... named Barissssssss

When is this going to work? I feel like an **** for spending so much trying to level up my phoenix squad for this event. It seemed like we can only use Kanan and chopper also. Why go to the trouble of adding all this to the game if it's not going to work?
