No no, these are more details:
Thrawn 7 stars, ZZ, g12 plus the three left pieces, one 6* mod and five 5* mods.
Chimaera 7 stars, all maxed.
Speed was 153 before the second Z and remained 153.
If there is a cap, it is above 155, yet seen in my shard and also in my guild.
There appears to be no distinction between whether an ability is a zeta; just moving up a level, so +140. The formula is crew rating*ship multiplier*stat rating. For 7* ships, the multiplier is usually 1.5. For Thrawn, crew contribution to speed is 0.00299401: https://swgoh.gg/ships/chimaera/
So 140*1.5*0.00299401 = 0.6287 increase in speed. Since the speed multiplier is so low, you sometimes will need to upgrade gear/abilities/mods in pairs before you see a manifest increase in speed, since it can only be an integer.
Zetas add a lot of GP but doesn’t add much Crew Rating which is the actual stat that affects Ship speed in the end. Should have researched before you invested, and it seems to be pretty common knowledge here, along with simple online tools to help calculate Ship Speed.
On average, every two ability upgrades, G12 pieces, or six dot mods increases Chimaera's speed by one. Get another six dot mod or another G12 piece and it'll go up again.
@AleSahnDroh_1979 I had the same scare when I did the second zeta. Turned out I had one 4* mod. When I changed that to 5* I got the speed.
In your case it appears that the 1x 6* mod got you the extra speed where most people are saying it takes two of those to get one speed. I suspect you’ll get one more speed after you add another 6* mod.

Yes, I get my +1 speed (now 154) switching a 6* mod from BB-8 to Thrawn.
More happy now :-)

Otherwise OP, is it the case that your Chimaera is only 5*?
Things like zetas are NOT worth it for fleet alone, as the increases are minimal at best (as OP just found out).
Here: http://apps.crouchingrancor.com/Calculators/Shipspeed
That will tell you what any changes will do to your ship's speed BEFORE you do it.

You DO know, that zetas are not theonly thing that affect crew power (and hence ship stats), right?
