Probably because the game has only 10 minutes of (boring) content outside of satisfying an innate addiction of collecting stuff (which most of these whales have already done)
You'll see EA's goal shifting to attracting new whales rather than keeping the old ones satsified
You bunch of envious socialists! Makes you feel better to claim victory over whales ? They pay for your game, but if the parasites feel better attaching the whales go for it.
You have no evidence that whales are quitting only some half baked biased fantasy.
I think one way to keep whales interested would be to add a paid subscription that gives you a better gear drop rate. Ftp can still compete, it just takes more time. I'd pay $50/month to get gear drops at say 50%.
Maybe because 30 Sim Tickets, 240 Energy used for 1 single gear item, where you need 20 of it, just to craft one part of 3 for 1 of 5 chars needing it, doesnt entertain enough?

Ha! Great point!
I want new content too.
what an ugly thing to say... does this mean we're not friends anymore?
Noticed lot of top 10 players now in the 50-100, dont know if stopped play or what...
anyway, this game need more Solo play.. MUCH more LS/DS battles and things like that, much less annoying stuff like GW. its getting boring, i having too much toons in lvl 70, it going too slowly
The true shot in the arm the game needs is something meaningful involving guilds. Ongoing battles between guilds with luxury top tier prizes, that also have meaningful rewards spread across the tier placement. Similarly to how Tyrant Unleashed has done in the past, if you play / have played it. This will keep whales spending, incite a bit more spending from the casuals, and still provide reward to the FTP. Everyone wins to an extent, and the draw of a social / community mode of play brings that additional content everyone is craving.

Just my 2 bits.
TRUTH!!
I've played online games since the mid 90s...yes they've been around that long. The one thing that makes a game last and be worth while is community. Guilds with actual, real interaction and working together as a team would make this game take off.
I'm not a whale, but have been close to throwing in the towel a few times. My guess is lack of content, nerfing characters, and realizing spending thousands doesn't really give a huge advantage if any at all. You would think CG would try to find ways to make someone spending thousands on a mobile game feel special. But it's just a money grab for the next chromium victim..
This is so true. Hate to say it but clash of clans did a hell of a job separating the whales from the rest! It took years for everyone to catch up to the whales and then they adjusted. Really would like to see these guys use that successful platform, as I believe whales should have things others have difficulty obtaining (like old ben) or whales loose interest and f2p becomes the same as a whale
As a whale, the 200 to 300 extra arena stones I would get staying in the top positions isn't worth the extra crystals to refresh attacks and maintain a top position. Now that more Ftp people are maxing out arena squads it doesn't matter if you are a whale or not. The playing field has leveled out. We haven't left, it's cost to benefit.
I can horde resources till the next patch and easily maintain a position in arena pulling 700 - 750 stones without a refresh.
In the end, what is important to you?
Play your game....stop chasing meta...build the teams you want...be creative and have fun.
Much butt hurt I sense in you, this is why you fail...
There are whales quitting due to lack of content...
I'm not a whale but I've spent my fair bit on the game... I can tell you I am on the verge of leaving partly because of this... it's been on my mind ever since the level cap raise to 70 a few months back... then the Yoda event came along a probably just delayed me leaving... He was fun... reading some of the new plans from the devs look interesting.. but when I saw the lvl 80 cap mention... it just sped me faster towards calling it a day with the game...
Then they dropped the droid event for android, again interesting for a while... but its not really adding much new...
Recently someone introduced me to another game which I found occupying my time a lot more, it has a lot more to do in terms of game modes... virtually all the characters in that game can be earned without spending. However it does reward those that actually spend in that game with "perks" or VIP levels.. which encourages people to spend. It actually has Co-op play, and even introduced pvp (something I've never really been a fan of but it's there)... That game kinda shows the level of competition this game is facing and frankly GOH doesn't measure up. Over all that game is just better thought out, but like all games it has issues.
They also have one of the fastest responses to community outcry I seen in a while.. like within a day or two they reverted some changes when the community went ballistic.. something that hadn't happened before apparently.. So this will probably be a give away to what the game is to those that play it.
With regards to GOH, I don't regard increasing lvl cap as "content". different game modes... now that is content!
I'll probably give until the new patch hits and see what the changes are and more than likely I will stop playing then if I hadn't already
Former crazy person of the guild "Shard Awakens"... *quit game 13th July 2016*
Game used to be fun when it wasn't a grind... if I wanted a grind I would have went and played old school Everquest or some Korean MMO!

But this is Star Wars that's the hook here I believe a lot would have stopped if it wasn't Star Wars on its own is addictive

This game wasnt meant to be a Clash of clans or a march of empires.... if thats the money grabbing kinda of **** you want then go back to it.
I was one who spent thousands in march of empires and I can tell you its not worth it.
Leave the game as it is with its updates of coarse. ...but leave the game play style alone.

That wasnt the point....if you want that play style...go back to it.... heck you can always play star wars commander.
I don't know....my hard launch board is very active. Players will quit, or go afk from time to time. But it is tougher to stay up top now than it was a month ago....best I've gotten in a week is two. Good news is the team make ups seem to be changing, and becoming more diverse. I'm seeing 15-20 toons being used.
Bait and switch which characters are best enough times...force the grind of new sets, make it that F2P are just as strong as P2P and pretty soon people won't pay any more. Then good bye game.
It sounds like they're now doing a major overhaul of how the game works. The last game that I played that did that I ended up asking for an entire refund of my expenses from Apple. You can't **** the rug out from under people over and over and expect them to take it...especially when they're paying money to you.

My point is that you try to discriminate a game by a false statement, I don't know about March of Empires, but there is no reason to spend money on c.o.c or commander, unless you have very little patience
And thankfully GoH diverse from those games
