What about a simple story line?

One that introduces the new meta and character changes as a brief ongoing tale. Maybe some character confrontation short videos. That way you can smartly describe and justify the buffs and nerfs in a cooler way. Also new character intros with a paragraph background to invite people to read the back stories?

Their should be a story line for each team
Ex.(nightsisters, rebels, first order etc...)
This would add so much more content/rewards/extra gametime

The game is about gambling on holo-games in the cantina. None of our characters are real in the story...they are like chess pieces on the various tables. If there was a story, it would be about a holo tournament and the Hutts trying to cheat or something.

That could work. Then you just show a group of gamblers who use the characters but talk about what they hear might be happening in the galaxy. Like a gossip bar with real game hints.
