Why does div 1 and 2 require the same amount of squads?

Why at just entering div 2 do I need to set 4,3,4 and 1 ship team, which is the same as those in div 1? Just seems odd since usually the amount of required teams increases with each division.

Sorry if this has been asked before, just entered div 2 for the first time so was surprised by this.

It's the same with 5v5 isn't it? Both divisions have to set 3, 2, 2?

Because they restart their play testing accounts after 3-4 months. They don't know what it's like to play in division 1 or 2.

Each pair of divisions sets the same number based on my time rising through them. 1/2 set the same, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8. Nothing special about div 1 and 2, except that we really need new upper GP divisions since the range in 1 is 4.5m - 8m+

Having spent plenty of time in both Div 2 and then the lower parts of Div 1 (5.2m now), the number of D slots is fine as is. There should be more at larger GP however.
