I want to join a new guild but....

Hi all. I want to join a new guild from the starter one you get but, I don't know what I need to do in order to do it. Like what all do I need to share, how to share it, and what does all the shorthand mean on the guild descriptions?
I don't have anyone I play with or know anyone to help me with it. So, thanks in advance.
