Anyone else really excited that maybe, just maybe, ea/cg will hit the nail on the head and balance this game out?!
I so badly want to see a multitude of different arena teams.
I've lost count of how many Dooku's I've fought these past months.
I hoping, but I doubt it bc of 1 thing that they never mentioned... Health. They only said damage to speed was changing but health plays a big role also. You can't give fives big damage bc he is slow when he has that much health. Also, what about counter attack toons? Do they get less of a boost in damage than others or the same. These things that they did or didn't take into account will define the next meta, imo.

Honestly, my feelings haven't changed yet. Just waiting to see if GW is possible. If it's not anymore, I will likely walk away.

If GW is a mess, the forums will be in an uproar that will make the Barriss Mess look like a tea party. I think they will quickly make adjustments if they are needed.
What I really want is the balancing to give the ability to build two arena teams - offence and defence, so I don't get stomped so much while I'm sleeping. If I thought maintaining rank was a viable thing, I'd put more effort into arena. If not, it's just investing time and effort to stay static. Fingers crossed.
Personally I don't get the hype or the changes or the desire to want a "more balanced" game.... are we really wanting a game that everyone can beat everyone and no one rises to the top? Sounds like socialism and the "participation trophy" mentality. I get not wanting to see dooku and qgj everywhere but if everyone is just even and balanced then the people that pay the most money everyday will just be the victors....

I think people are going for more the rock paper scissors variety rather than complete free for all
The meta will shift, but when it settles the names will just be different. People in general don't have credits to experiment o diversify, so people will min/max as they do now.
My prediction.

I have zero faith this update will broaden the viable characters; as others have said, it will merely change which are at the top of the meta. Have any of you ever played a multiplayer RPG before? Even the highest top tier AAA games never achieve real balance. ...and right now we're talking about a mobile game... from EA.
We can always hope... but let's stay realistic.
My only real hope is that this re-roll in the meta lands favorably on my squad, because I wasted a ton on crap characters before doing the research to figure out what was good.
