5x finished on auto using this team:

    5* Talia, gear 8, level 70, Leader
    6* JC, gear 8, level 73
    7* QGJ, gear 8, level 73
    4* Daka, gear 8, level 70
    7* Phasma, gear 8, level 73

used to have Ventress instead of QGJ some weeks ago.

On some attempts one toon died - nevertheless I did not have to redo any attempt. I am totally F2P, started playing mid January.

I think there are already 10 or more threads like this one. The strategy hasn't changed, it was NOT the perma stun to kill the droids BEFORE opress attacks. The important thing here was to learn to manipulate the turn meters and such. We could do this challenge with 2 characters : QGJ (lead) and a high level JC.
With the +25 speed of QGJ, you heal right after Opress and right before the droids. Use Talia, Elder ewo and chirpa to make it go faster. This way, you can auto it without a problem. You ONLY NEED a decent QGJ (at least +23 speed) and JC ( lv 7 heal ability)
[EDIT]: Ho, and i'm f2p, my qgj is 5*.

I managed to finish the challege 2X with Doku(L), talia, Eith Koth, Old Daka and JC.
My impression is that the health bars of the enemy remains the same as before the patch, only now those health bars means 2X more health + armour. And oh boy how hard it is to kill/stun those droids before its Game Over.

Phasma (L), Dooku, QGJ, JC, and Talia. Had no problems finishing it as long as Talia or Phasma is able to land a debuff (if not, it can get tough). I usually take out one droid first, and then go to town on Savage (again as long as I land a debuff, if not, I'll kill the other droid before he can kill one of my characters after the health clear).

Opress challenge is more than doable. Dooku - talia (lvl 58) - Daka - QGJ - JC

It takes much longer, but no difficulties

EDIT: Consensus thus far: There is no strategy, just have Count Dooku!
For realzingtons! Posting a large chunk of text and then listing Dooku is not strategic.

you are kidding right? There are 4 levels.. try level III. Level IV is for when you reach the intended MAX level of 80...

Beats it on auto no problem

Yeah prove it, post it on youtube.. I am sure we will never see it, as this is fictitious.

Show me your level 73 toons with this comp beating this challenge on AUTO

    5-0

It's not auto, not easy, but not impossible either. I would rate it hard. Lvl 74 toons only vent is 60. But she is there for stun only

    Phasma
    Yoda
    Dooku
    Ventress
    Daka

It's all well and good until Savage resists stuns. If that happens you are done.

I have managed it consistently with a team of Phasma (L), JC, Talia, Dooku and Ventress. I wreck the drones as usual and beat down on Savage. It helps that Phasma triggers extra attacks to ensure the drones are down, and Dooku and Ventress both have stun capability. I may lose one of them occasionally, but the remaining troops are enough to bring down Savage in the end.

I speculate that Yoda would also do well by triggering foresight before Savage does his massive attack, and spreading it with meditation to everyone else. This way the drones don't get to off someone before you can heal back.

I don't auto this challenge anymore, but it is doable.

I'm using a similar team except I use Daka instead of Talia for extra stun/heal, and the possibility of bringing dead back.

I have completed the challenge as usual, just that it took more time. My toons are:
    Phasma 6* lvl 73 (L)
    QGJ 6* lvl 73
    Koth 6* lvl 70
    Talia 4* lvl 70
    JC 6* lvl 73

Only unusual thing was that droids and night sisters were way too strong. But it is not difficult as many of you say.

Uh you need as many people that can put a debuff on him as possible, make phasma lead and use pretty much anyone else. Phasma got her basic reworked and now put a debuff also, stuns help. Debuffs give you a additional 16845 dmg to every attack, so ANY character will work. So put any debuff on savage attack as much as possible heal after the aoe rinse and repeat.

After having eaten my shorts, I can say: All I had to do was beef up my Phasma. And it works 60% of the time, all the time. Qui-Gon (L), JC, Phasma, Talia and sweet old HK-47.

EDIT: Thanks for the input everybody. So, stunning heroes like Lady Daka and Pretty Boy Dooku seem to do the trick. Another route, would be turn meter manipulations. Just make sure to have gear level 7 or better throughout for added protection.

Nah ANY character gear will work as long as they will survive a hit from the droids, savage will do 99%dmg to any character. It's ALL about keeping a debuff on savage, I can't stress that enough, you will not win unless he has a debuff 90% of the time. Daka ends up going right before savage so the stun debuff only gives me maybe one attack before it's gone.

@Kingken85, I found that it's not so important anymore to keep the debuff up. Just focus on surviving and Opress himself will massively reduce his own health with every AOE. When his health is in the red, Qui-Gon kills him off even without debuff.

Well there's more than one way to skin a cat, just giving my two cents. I auto that challenge with phasma(l) qgj, daka, ventress/elder/jc/foo/chief really anyone else lol. Those first three do it for me

Dooku and daka are obviously very good but the mvp for this fight is talia in my opinion. She exposes him for two rounds instead of the one Dooku and daka do. And of course a geared jc. Super easy with that team and any lead. I
    usually run qgj.

Just tried it with Phasma, Dooku, Daka, Talia, JC on auto with just a manual focus to Savage in the last round. He's now as dead as fried chicken. 5 times in a row.

I couldn't auto it this morning, but I just changed to Qui-Gon lead with Eeth Koth, JC, Daka, and Phasma. I autoed it no problem. I'm sure it will sometimes have RNG go not my way, but it's certainly possible to auto it.

I usually do it with no healers. Urrorrur'R'R'R (L), Poggle, Dooku, Eeth Koth, and QGJ

Unfortunately foresight doesn't prevent the effect of his massive attack... (As of before the update)
