I'm cool with 1 toon per faction being able to restore protection as an added leader ability or passive. But it can't be a lot. Like 5% per turn for the same faction, half to non faction. Not introducing new toons for that specific purpose.
They introduced this in place of just adding HP because they felt healers would be too powerful. So if they did this you would be able to stack a protection healer and a healer and basically have endless matches.
I doubt you'll see it. I do think you'll see characters who do more damage when someone has protection but otherwise you won't see many changes.
