Since we are speculating. I will speculate that they will basically be one for one but only able to buy a particular hero's shards once per day with a 100 crystal refresh. And you will be able to get many of the HM and chromium shards.

Anyone else thought ahead and started stockpiling extra shards for the characters they've already gotten to 7*'s? I've got about 130 shards ready to go

Im not going to waste shipments on characters I already have at 7* on the off chance they MIGHT be useful. The exchange rate is likely to be horrible and Im better off getting more characters starred up which may become useful in the future one more tribal synergies emerge from new characters getting released or characters get buffed. Also, waiting on other characters being added to shipments. At the moment I am throwing away my arena shipments on greedo and oprress just because I have so **** much of them.

I thought about that, but will just let the extra shards come naturally. Currently I have about 40. If the character is really good, I may consider farming Lumi, Sid, Luke or JC for an exchange. But I'd wait before going that route

I agree witht hat, they will likely be similar to how the shards for crystals in the shipments are done, rotated otu ever so many hours with random shards and a crystal refresh button. Seems like that would be the most logical way it will work.

Yes, it will be made for P2W players, so if you have just few of lumi shards, you'll be able to buy nothing I guess.

The trade ratio will be terrible as we can see how the economics is set in actual version (chromium pack price, solo shard price etc.)

So if you don't have few dozens of the same shards, don't be excited.

    Just my 2 cents

Yeah, me too. We have no idea what the exchange rate will be or who might be added to the shipments. I'm just stockpiling tokens.

more likely better shards will sell for more etc, but on average, what do you guys think
  • Options
Though I hope not. I just, based on costs in the game, see it being quite high.
  • Options
    Obviously

There's probably going to be some variance. Chromiums will be a higher ratio than GW/Arena/Cantina available, and any exclusive characters higher still.

If it's like any of the other games I play then it will be exchange 10 shards of a character you have at 7 stars for 5 shards of whatever characters they decide to put in the shop which will refresh every 6 hours just like the rest of the shipments

    Yeah HC does that.

Everyone is making this too complicated lol
Just make a shipment like all the others. It resets when all the others resets and have a big variety to pick from. Shards should exchange 1-1 because when u crack a pak u pay the same ammount weather u draw 1* garbage or 4* goodies.

You just take any un-needed shards to the shipment and cash them for things u do want.

I would even argue we should be able to trade in junk toons for shards to then use them at said shipment. I (and many others) have paid good $ for crystals or paks or whatever only to get a pile of junk that just its at lvl 1 and will never get starred or geared.

Would be nice to change em in for the shards at a shipment essentially. Would feel much better about investing since you'd be able to make sure through your own choices weather you at least get something decent.

    Totally agree

You guys are out of your mind?
You casino from chromium packs, which gives you mostly the shards you dont need, and now you are talking about 8 to 1 exchange ratio, so the chromium pack in general becomes a 350crystal way to buy 1,5 shards of the character.
You are not even independent human beings, you are EA puppets.
Instead of demanding EA to reason prices you, you just ask for ridiculous way to complicate firther this mascarade. They should just remove the characters you maxed 7* from the pool you draw the characters. In a paper version of collectible card games they cannot actually take out the cards you already own. But its called progress, civilizations move on to achieve greatness. If you so sadistically enjoy gambling, why dont you go to a real casino, there you not only trash your money but also are offered a chance to win some.
10k$ for a full collection of characters is enough. You sim out or autoplay all the battles anyway so whats the point.
And you would think rich people are at least be reasonable. At least demand whats your birthright for the grand you spend. And get a freakin shard exchange, 1:1 ratio. What you need exchange system for?
Why complicate the money equation even further.

$ for crystal, crystal for dozens of useless shards you dont want, then those dozens shard for the shards you like
    So whats the difference

    So why not
$ for shards you want. Whats wrong with that?

Seriously what you get from luck based draw if you' re goal is the complete collection of chars or aqcuire particular heroes you desire?

I'm not jealous, I just despise how ridiculous your expectations are.

The reason you go to casino is to get faster what you have to work for.

clearly if you have tons of shards left its not working isn't it?

Does Riot games make you gamble for champs you want to play?
    Okey lets gamble?
    Introduce 2 packs:
Carbonite more expensive - only chars you dont have.

Chromium less expensive - only shards.
The you can gamble, even I can gamble on this model is at least fair and fun.

21st century we explore Galaxy, and you fellas enjoy pulling characters you maxed out to 7*.
    That's fun for anybody.
Seriously I don't want to grow up.
I value the resources I'm granted by my parents. They thought me amongst many other things:
    Respect every human being,
Value work of others, no matter what they occupation is,
When you spend money, consider quality to price ratio.
I value work of EA, I disrespect thair greed.
I value CD Projekt for instance and bought all their games I like. Beacuse they ask for a fair price.

I sincerely apologize if some whale thinks like a vialolated the first rule.
Maybe someday you will buy a brain and understand what I thought you. But you know, millions of neurons to unlock, I don't think even you whales have that kind of money.
Then you will cry tears, but not salty ones like ocean, rather bitter like the white parts of the orange.
Bon appetite, I just wonder why rich adults even play games. When I grow up and have a wife, I would have better things the video games.
As darth electronic arts once said: "Yes, yes, let the money flow to me"
    You're hopeless cheers.
I rarely play games other then ones with storyline, but I really hoped for this one since its collecting SW heroes and fighting battles rpg style.
But You people who cannot see wrong in the price tag on that beauty, you are responsible for the demise of this game.
Beacuss you fuel the greed that Captains this ship. You are like sheeps, indeed. Any shepherd would do, even a wolf.
I dont mind, this road is cool, I wonder whats around a corner.
For a grand $ you can make your life and of others meaningful.
I do so, 50$ for a game every two months, a grand for a cooking course, or basketball camp. I dont donate for charity, but I never refused to share or buy a hungry person lunch. Or to help tend the horses for at a local hippotherapy

How do you expect us to answer this ?

I believe it won't be a one to one exchange ratio. I.e. you wont just grab 5 extra Lumi shards from GW to convert them to 5 Leia shards at the shop.

I think they'll adjust based on rarity/value, which will open the field to debate and discussion. Ideally, they will adjust the ratios based on supply and demand over time.

A question is whether they do the exhange on the 'buy' side or the 'sell' side. I think that if you follow pattern, all purchases of five shards will cost the same 400 'shard currency'. You'll just get different amounts of shard currency based on which shards you're trading in.

    For example:
5 Lumi shards get you 40 'shard currency'
5 Leia shards get you 300 'shard currency'.
    Etc.

(Actually maybe they do it on a shard per shard basis, not packs of five.)

As soon as you collect 400 shard currency, you'll be able to buy 5 shards of any character in the shop.
