Rancor Devouring before counter finishes

Tier 5, phase 2, in same raid battle Rancor Devour ability went off when the counter showed he had 2 rounds left before he could activate it, then next counter showed 3 rounds left and he devoured another toon.,,, it's stupid enough that there's NO way to defend, deter or counter the one shot immediate death attack, but now it seems the Rancor can even break the rules and Devour whenever it wants. That's not strategy... Nor is the 28k Damage to everyone with one single slam. The game should encourage in game strategy... Not forced to meta game in order to try to survive. Not cool Devs, not cool.

+1 I've heard people "explain" this by his ability to reduce the devour cool-down by 1 for each enemy below 50%. Even if that's true, then by Yoda I want to see the cool-down number say 0 or be gone while he's eating my toon.

See, usually when a character gets devoured, they are mostly close too top health. IMO, something like Devour should only have a % chance to succeed if a character is below 50% Health... And that % chance could increase per Tier. I just hate that there's absolutely nothing that can be done to get out of someone instantly dying no matter how Healthy they are.

Same here. Devours on round 2 three times in a row now.

If this is a "feature" rooted in player health, the cool down timer should somehow reflect this.

Rancor takes out my top character on his first turn of each round, at least 75% of the time now, then recoups and eats the next highest. Tier 5 is ridiculous. I can only imagine Tier 6-7 being so frustrating that several iPhones will have to be purchased.

Are you guys actually looking at the cooldown timer on Devour? Because I just started a thread on this very issue - the problem is not that he's Devouring out of turn, it's that Devour's cooldown is persisting between battles. AFAIK Devour's cooldown would reset each time you started a new battle with him, so if you have multiple squads each one would have 5 rounds before Devour gets used.

Now it seems like Devour's cooldown is persisting. So if you send in a squad and you wipe while he has one round left on Devour's cooldown, when your next squad goes in he'll still have only one round left. Meaning someone will get Devoured right off the bat.

This even seems to persist between character refreshes, which is especially annoying. My guess is that its cooldown got affected when they changed the door's turn meter to persist between matches. Anyway, no matter the cause this needs to be fixed as it really negatively impacts the raid.
