The whole point is that it takes time and effort... why not give everyone a 7* Shore Trooper just for logging in during the event... the same way an entire generation got trophies just for participating in... whatever, and were ruined by the sense of entitlement that type of thing fosters. The event would be ruined as well. Events should take time and effort. The real prob is they made it far too easy to farm ally points. They should just take all the extra free points back, along with gw purchases, and let ppl earn ally points the same way we always have.

rofl, you rant about a whole generation being entitled, but you suggest something that will result in basically the same situation as the OP's suggestion. Man, that is hilarious. thnx for that

Leaving the way we get ally points the way it was is a far cry from what the OP was suggesting. People would just need to save for longer periods of time, not expect to rank top 100 in every tournament. This would hopefully allow for different ppl ranking in every event, whales excluded, however you would still need to invest the time in order to rank. Other games operate this way, you just need to push every other event instead of every event. As its been stated before, this current system basically excludes everyone that hasn't been playing since launch.

    How about capping the refreshes?
You get 2-3 refreshes at each cost before it increases now, why not allow the same 2-3 refreshes at 1000 points and then not allow them to refresh anymore?
This way the tournament would reward truly deep and developed rosters.

It still would not reward deep, developed rosters actually. The reason is bc of the defense squads. There's only a handful full of toons who can win against top 100 teams. I know bc I have a big roster that helped very little last tourney. You can't play a wiggs team with jawas, or ewokes, or any other of the 60+ unusable toons and expect to win, let alone have 5 toons still alive.

The problem ultimately comes down to the fact that they have a lot of weak older toons, alot of them partially broken, that can't compete with the new op toons they've been releasing. If all the toons were balanced in that with the right synergies on your team any toon was usable then a deep roster would help.

The biggest problem with this last tournament was the insanely high conversion rate of GW tokens to ally points. Ppl that had saving ally points since release were easily beat out by ppl that hoarded GW tokens. So with a decent amount of GW tokens you could auto battles all day long and it became a who has the most GW tokens and time competition. A far cry from what the whole point of a tournament is, imo
