I've been trying to get a Triangle Health Mod for the past 5 days, burning through all my energy plus two refreshes (said in another thread). ZERO.
And since the 6am refresh this past Friday, there have been no sighting of the Shoretrooper in the shipments. Every refresh is Baze. Baze. Baze. Baze.
This is aggrivating as hell and makes me think this isn't true RNG.
CLONE HELMETS!! Now let's get Sabine her epic helmet.

I'm saying I think this game determines what you want and then makes it impossible to get. Before I decided to farm Shoretrooper he and Baze switched off regularly. But all of a sudden, when I purchase crystals to dedicate to Shortrooper last Thursday (pay day), he's nowhere to be found. I bought one 8 shard shipment then and one 4 shard on Friday morning. Now...he's ghost.
I have all these 4 and 5 star health mods, constantly getting more and more. But once I got it down to only needing the Triangle mod, ZERO.
This makes absolutely no sense.
they game can read minds, nice =D
Not saying it reads minds. I'm saying it goes through your inventory, calculates what you've been farming, and adjusts from there. Basically, it's designed to makes you spend more and more money.
Which is whatever. I'm saying it's beyond aggrivating.
I try to care very little about the piece of gear/mod i really really want. I find it helps
I could see that, but I'm looking for two "pieces." The fact that both are nowhere to be found seems way too fishy.

But the Shoretrooper not showing up anymore? There's FOUR resets a day in shipments and I haven't missed one. Not once. All the time Baze. That seems off. I highly doubt either is weighted heavier than the other.
This.
I understand your frustration but I have seen Sun Fac missing from the guild store for about a month now with Maul shards constantly. Last month I needed Maul and he was missing, now that I am focusing Fac, he is gone. That being said, I have got widely lucky with a few mods with good secondary speed that I needed in my last slots as well as Cuf drops. The game is "truly" random but when you pull RNG from a finite field which is what you are doing whenever it is digital set, it has been known to bias sometimes to the left or right of the deviations on a distribution; it's not unusual. I very very highly doubt the devs would spend enough time to write such a complex algorithm to determine bias for a random number when it would be much easier to just decrease the odds across the board and achieve the same effect. If there is anything I have learned about the devs in this game, it is that they are either stretched very thin or are incredibly lazy.
-At least some of the odds are dynamic
-Everything is subject to bugs, and there are A LOT in this game
Arrow, triangle and cross mods drop at a far lower rate than the fixed primary left side from challenges, just like whites drop far more than golds.
Wow, you give a lot of credit to cg, I'll give you that.
But seriously, follow nikom565's advice.
Because I think they can program a game to do what they want it to do?
Yeah, okay.
But you said in the previous post you wanted to spend money on ST but he doesn't show up in the store now, just Baze.
You are right in that many aspects of the game are designed to get people to spend money, like all the casino/gambling aspects of it.
I had a theory that the drop rates are lowered when you have a large balance of crystals so starting comparing drop rates between accounts but quit. In the end the game is what it is and will always be, if I don't like it I can/will quit.
I agree with the above - except for the bolded. Source?

Even after sharing that, I must admit, it sometimes feel there is something wrong with the RNG in SW-GoH.
And away from real world the RNG calculations in games (based on seed and the formula to calculate the results) can be really poorly done, and will get the same results more often than not.
Not to mention we don't even know what the chances are to drop certain gear/mods and in Arena for "us" to hit certain effects and "AI" to hit certain effects are.
All I know is it is much rarer to get Arrow and Triangle Mods than others.
It's not necessarily programming though; I don't know if you release how incredibly difficult it would be to create such an algorithm as you stated above. There would be an infinite number of cases not too mention the random number generation would have to become dynamic instead of static, both of which are very difficult to deal with to preserve continuity.
There is no way you should be losing if it is as you say. You are either missing essential mechanics such as speed focus or have a badly synced team to lose to teams with toons not at level 85. I haven't not finished a GW in almost 4 months. More then often I need help from secondary teams or have to throw in a trash team to drain ability cooldowns, but GW is not as huge a hurtle as people make it out to be. Patience and strategic analysis is required to finish it; it is supposed to be difficult to finish as stated by the devs.
It's either:
A) observational based on insufficient data
assumptions based on standard practice on F2P platforms
C) factual based on things which would cause the post or thread to be deleted
Or combination of all or none.
A better question is why do you think it wouldn't be? It's a for profit, public SW company.
