mine is only an expectation how the First Order got its name.
EP's First Order was order 66 aka 'kill all jedi'
In Ep7 First Order seems to take this order 66 very seriously as they do anything they can to find the 'Last Jedi'
It is a theory, but i think it stands.
I often use my real name in games for one reason.
Noone is able to pronounce it. Not even memorize. Noone except ~330,000 people on Earth.
@ChewieShards10___ That must have been before I started in Dec '16. I wouldn't have had to work so hard to get him to 7*.
I started in Dec '16 as well. They've definitely given out the Chewie shards since then, usually as an apology for an outage or some other mistake on their end. Usually came with the popular 500 crystal apology delivered to your inbox. I'll see if I can dig up the last time it happened.
My name is just part of my stage name. I was watching some cooking show in 2006, misheard a contestant's name and got Johnny Klocko. That name is much more punk rock than my real name. I use it for pretty much anything I don't want attached to my real name at this point. Exciting, right?
If you're wondering, the guy's actual name was Jody Klocko.
My name is my name without a K because my middle school's logins were 9 characters long and my name fit so I used that. I use it still because I don't see the point of pretending I'm someone else.
Exar Kun was taken. Normal Gamer tag is CommodoreCuddlez. Picked that up after being deployed on an aircraft carrier for nine months. We won't discuss it's origins haha.
In all seriousness though, people's tags are one od the best part about video games. You can get a lot from those one liners.
At the risk of getting in trouble for resurrecting an old thread, my name is a word I "made up" as a kid - Nikoms is smokin' backwards ("smokin" meant "cool" in the 80s or "lit" now) .
My real name isn't Nick. It's actually Greg (hence "Lucas_Gregory" in game.) Luke is actually my Confirmation name.
In game name: Lucas Gregory FORMER PLAYER - - - -"Whale blah grump poooop." - Ouchie
In game guild: TNR Uprising I beat the REAL T7 Yoda (not the nerfed one) and did so before mods were there to help

Necromancy is the coolest of all the schools of magic, I suppose. Besides it's an actually interesting thread, so I say justified!
Mine is relatively simple. Basically, when I started playing SW:TOR, I named my first character Robert Fancyman (fanciest of mans), because I thought it was a funny name. So funny, in fact, that I decided name every other character I made along the same lines. All the male characters were Fancyman, all the female Fancywoman.
Eventually I decided that just coming up with names that were ridiculous yet almost believable was actually quite funny and easy to do, so every character I made in every game I played ended up with a nonsense name.
Around that point, Fallout 4 was released and, while creating my character, I for some reason wanted it to relate to garden tools... I still could not tell you why. That's when I came up with Spade Freeman, which I still find very funny and use for many, many things, including this.
(Just a note, I also came up with Jammy Jhonson [yes, that's how I spelled it], which I also find funny).
Thanks for resurrecting, I am still intrigued by these creative names.
I always use the name "killer" when I play any Zelda game because I first called him a killer when I watched my older sister playing the NES Zelda as a 5 year old.
At least this one is on topic and not 99% discussing the old thread (I blame Kyno for derailing the other one).
To answer the question: I've been using "Catharsis" as a handle for a variety of things for awhile now. If I remember right, the first time I used it--though I don't recall why I chose it; this was some years back--was on my undead disc priest on a WotLK private server a friend had gotten me into. I used it again as a throw away for some silly political forum game--that shall remain nameless, and I won't admit to even if you guess right--where I made some buddies that kind of made "Catharsis" stick, despite being a throw away name, a couple years later .
The numbers were because "catharsis" on its own was taken, I couldn't think of anything else, and 478 is part of my in-game ally code.

@First_but_66_Order you might have a point. The only exception is that it was order number 66, but it's importance to the emperor
