Back to holdo crashing ship effect, def cool when all the sound cuts out and then the crazy sound happens, but another part to it that i really like is a split second after, the almost crackling sound from what i imagine are other mini explosions, as it seems to me when looking at the scene, that all the star destroyers that were in the vicinity behind snokes ship got mangled up real good by what i would imagine was flying debris from the crash, being hit that hard at that speed
I'm a heavy OT fan... But Palpatine in the prequels had two that caught me off guard as good....
1- when he said "dew it" tom coherse annakin to decapitate Dooku
2- the screech he let out when he leaped over his desk while twirling....
But, my favorite, because I am an Obi fan, is Obi saying "hello there"
I think you’re confusing sound effects with sound bites
I think other people are confusing sound effects with lines as well.
There are some good nods to sound effects on here though I do have to say, across all (OT, PT & ST) regardless whether anyone liked movies or not - no one can deny a good sound effect.
Blue Ray is more expensive than standalone DVD - TLJ isn't worth the cost, lol
Well @Boo I got it as a gift so... yeah. It's the Blue Ray one too. lol
A gift? Even better - no money spent on your end, lol
Have you listened to Rian Johnson's commentary re: direction of Luke's character? It doesn't make any sense.
No. Not yet @Boo haven't even taken it out of the packaging. lol. For the record though I did like TLJ. Just didn't agree with a few things. Hopefully IX fixes it all.

There were things I thought were great about the last jedi. Unfortunately the things I hated were pretty major, so shadows my overall view and opinion of the movie, sadly.

AT-AT cannons
X-wing laser cannons
Millennium Falcon engine wash (they did such a great job of making it sound unique)
Yeah, the best sound ever, as for me.
In fact, it's quite a challenge, to create a characteristic sound effect that everyone will like.
I has some experience as sound engineer and and it's really big art, to find a good sound.
That or Vader's breathing for sure.
Same noise he makes when he lunges at the jedi in his office..."It's treason then"

I've grown to enjoy turbolasers as well having been recently playing EaW.

I have to agree with you, in my opinion it is seismic charge lightsaber igniting or tie fighters
