Considering how many people will have the requirements to do this event and how much GET you would need to have, I think he’ll still be pretty exclusive.

Also I guess my view is skewed because my arena has a good mix of ppl who pay and ppl who hoard like no tomorrow.
I whale out more than is rational or even sane. But the thing here defenders aren't getting isn't that other players are expecting immediate access to a new toon but a system of getting characters that at least respect the player base.
Yeah, but the thing that you're not getting is that you don't HAVE to whale out all the time. It's okay to let a character go by and get them the next time. It's not the end of the game, let alone the end of the world.
They're not disrespecting you. They don't even know who you are. They're giving us the thing we asked for--Malak, fewer marquees, reasons to use characters we don't use, etc--but getting what you want usually comes with the unexpected result of realizing you didn't actually want it.
That's what some people are getting wrong. Once you start whaling out, you actually HAVE to spend more and more, every time you have to. Why? Because if you don't, all the money you have spent earlier will be useless. This is the classic casino way EA has gotten us used to. They got yelled at when they pulled the rope too much on big games like Battlefront, so they got **** and they're getting extremely predatory on lesser means, like this game.
Just because you have spent money in the past does not mean you have to spend more money to protect that lost investment. No matter how much money you put in this game, the only return you get is the ability to rank higher in the Squad Arena. You know you will never see a profit. I believe this is almost (but not quite) what they call the Sunk Cost Fallacy.
Money spent in this game is a recreational expense, it is not an investment.
Actually that's exactly how the sunk cost fallacy works. The more you invest, the more you'll keep investing so as to not feel like you're taking a loss. The fact it's for recreation is irrelevant. It works the same way with people defending bad ideas and people too. That's the reason you can see a leader do blatantly horrible stuff and people that you know who are very smart will keep saying nothing to see here.

There should really be a law against this type of exploitation, people with gambling addictions, mental health problems could easily lose all their cash to this game.

What's truly messed up is I can't play because I dont have DR that's truly makes me angry I've spent so much money but havmt in a long time and now dont ever plan on spending more

Be careful your not allowed to criticize the developers..my post got flagged just like many others im sure and i got a warning email..this game used to be amazing and i was one of the people who defended the devs when people would complain really no reason..but those days are gone just like the days of this game being enjoyable..this is robbery period..
By my count there should only be 22 people in the whole game who haven't quit so arena shard should be easy and boring.....going to miss all you that say you are quitting.....I'll see you in 3 days when your quitting over something else

Was a dolphin spending some cash weekly, then a mini whale when Revan came round the second time and bought my way to Drevan this first time.
