I would have picked "great" if it wasn't for the paper-thin villain and his utterly implausible plan for... what exactly? World domination through media fame and public gratitude? I have no idea, and I think neither did the writers. But aside from that, I enjoyed the movie even more than Homecoming. The high school drama / romantic comedy parts were as hilarious and enjoyable as Ragnarok.
I hate that they made Mysterio a fake just like The Mandarin in Ironman 3. They ruined such great comic book villains.
Yeah, I think Marvel's characters generally work best on the big screen when they come straight from the comic book pages. Especially the villains. Loki and Thanos are two prime examples. Don't overexplain their abilities or technology or try to modernize them for the 21st century. Too much illumination kills the magic and mystery.
There are exceptions of course. The new-and-improved Vulture in Homecoming worked really well for me, but that was partially because the movie made me care about Toomes and gave him a believable motivation. Far From Home sadly failed to do the same.

John Mulaney should voice every character in any movie for the rest of his life
I agree with all of this. But Tom Holland is a good Spider-Man.
I found Harry Plopper to be a more convincing performance.
... and that is?
