Namely, that it needs to be gone from the mode. I have not found turn meter to make my GW easier. if anything, it makes it harder. For example, I've got a node with broken rng where a vader is resisting three different stuns so he can get his dot out. I can't swap out because of the turn meter changes. Before protection I could have killed him before he used crush.
Protection is wonderful for arena. Its absolutely horrid for gw. Its turned it into an hour + long slog. Someone please tell me how protection helps the player in GW, because all I see it as is a player nerf.
And before you tell me "It's easy for me, L2P" I haven't lost a GW in over 2 months. It was fun before protection. Now its a chore.

Try a suicide team to make Vader uses his dot. I agreed that it's very annoying when on his next attack he uses that throwing blade special, usually killing a character. Generally I try to block his ability with Lumi or Poggle. If fail and he release his dot, I try to focus on him to either kill him before his throwing blade, or to stun him/block his ability.
When nothing of that works, suciide team is the solution.
Used to be. Now suicide team helps the ai because it gives them TM. Honestly, they take away protection from gw, problem solved.
Hi, what level are you? How many 7* toons? What's your main A squad?
77, 14, Barris (L), Dooku, Daka, RG, GS. A stun focused team.
I complete every day, just sick of it taking over an hour
Well it's obvious why it takes you more than an hour, you have no damage on that team.
Its focused on survival. I have the worst luck with running into multiple maxxed dooku teams
Tbh with 14 x 7* toons I would have thought you would have breezed through it a lot sooner.
Personally the tm changes have made mine appear to be quicker based on the 2 I've done so far.
Personally I'd try a different team with some more DPS. Maybe swap barris for lumi. That should speed it up a bit and you can probably auto the first 3-4 rounds and knock a good 15-20 mins off that hour
I'm afraid of a full dps team due to the maxxed teams I face nearly every node.
However, if you had more characters that could do substantial damage (Rey, QGJ) you wouldn't be having as big issues.
I have plenty of DPS toons. Rey is at 5* but gear 8, 88, 86, RP, GS, QGJ, all maxxed. I just always thought survival was the name of the game
You have a big roster - 14 toons at 7* gives you plenty of room to play with. I only have 7 but I mix in my lower toons as well. Personally I'd suggest trying some different teams based on who you face and don't worry if you have a few casualties along the way.
Give it a go with Barriss, Lumi, QGJ, GS, and Rey. I use that team and beat it in under 30 minutes.
I ran her in Arena at 5*, she won't be the first to die in GW anyway.

In my opinion the turn meter carry over to following battles is also a dumb idea. Now I can never predict who in my team will attack first on the next battle.
People have Dooku and QGJ in their teams for their speed an ability to count on them that they will attack first - this is gone and you cannot strategically beat your opponents anymore like this.
Not to mention that protection and wave after wave of higher levelled teams (using taunts and anti-heal) put us players at a huge disadvantage as it is, the developers then add this turn meter thing too, when we are all already in uproar as to how hard GW has become. - This makes 0 sense in my opinion.
The essence of a good game is the balance between challenge and reward. Get the balance right and you have a fun game. Right now the balance is wrong, and as the OP says, it's just a chore.
You have the basic gameplay elements in place. Make small tweaks until you get the balance right. Right?
I actually do beat GW most of the time, but I see how hard it is for everyone else, and the balance really isn't there when you:
1. have protection on every enemy team, when yours runs out
2. face wave after wave of teams that are higher level than you
3. face wave after wave of teams with toons with anti-heal ability and taunts
4. Also, the turn meter carry-over update, screws around with your predicted strategy. It is now a guessing game from one battle to the next.
My main team is Dooku (leader), Sid, Luminara, Daka and Rey (all 7* maxed gear).
I then have Jedi teams as backup - Mace, QGJ, JC, Ahsoka, Anakin, Yoda, Ben, Koth etc etc and other DS toons:, Vader, Opress, Fett, Phasma, IG-86, IG 88, Ventress - all 6-7 star.
I also take weaker teams in as suicide squads - just to provoke the opponent team's taunt or other special move before I bring my main team in to wipe them out ... all of them.
For players that don't have that kind of lineup or character level yet its impossible. There are days I can't do it, no matter how many times I retreat, strategize whatever. The game has decided I am not beating GW that day - and I don't end of story.
