Here's a video I recorded of a weak 4* Shore against wiggs, including a Raid Han. Notice who raid han attacks.
There is only upside to shore as I need to gear a few of the available G10 gear, and bring him up to 7*...imo the star ranking is not as important as gear and mods.

These are some of the Elite players and friends on my Nov '15 shard. There were no out takes. I recorded each one once and posted here immediately.
Imo, shore is viable even at 4*.

Against wiggs, I agree. Someone is going to get wacked. At least shore gives me the initiative on who it will be.
Against other comps, shore will have multiple turns, and be able theoretically use his special or unique.
Lol... A good point that I can't help you with. There is some rng luck involved in bracket placement, that if lucky could have netted you a full shore or better.
Your Shore is still in his infancy. Once he grows up, he'll take it like a champ and fire back. His future is promising.
According to swgoh.gg he only gets about 5k extra health from those missing stars. Obviously you want that 5k extra, but i'm sorta disapointed it's such a relatively small increase for 3 extra stars. Maybe i should be glad it's just 5k less without those stars.
I'm missing just the 2 stun guns at the moment, and he has 68.4k hp/prot. I run him under a palps lead, which adds 7.7k hp. So a total of 76k hp/prot. The 2 stun guns will bring that up higher still, not to mention he's only 4*.
EDIT: He'll be about 80k hp/prot when maxed after considering the 32% hp bonus from palps.

Agreed... he is a strong charachter for shutting down wiggs or the cliche Lando teams. If you utilize his purpose in the group and take advantage of of his crit immunity via TM boosts he is a great component to the right team.
Indeed. 7*, maxed and modded he will likely pose big problems in the future with lack of a game plan. He looks to be incredibly powerful. With palp lead and the new tie fighter, I forsee more nerf threads to come, hehe.
I am 1 stun gun away from max gearing shore. With mods, he's at 70k hp/prot. Much higher now than even in the video above. Even at 4*, he's pretty stout.
Most important difference between 3*, 4*, and 7* is actually armor. A level 80 max gear ShT has
27.4% base armor at 3*
28.7% base armor at 4*
32.4% base armor at 7*
That 5% difference between 3* and 7* is equivalent to a 10% EHP difference (before considering defense boosts from mods). He also gets about 6k extra HP from the extra stars, so it's probably about a 20% increase to overall tankiness between 3* and 7*. I think he's definitely usable at a low star, and I'll gear him to try it, but the difference is significant.
I'm almost finished maxing him, and then I'll post more vid's to help you make a good decision. I need 47 more stun cuffs.

Yeah great ShoreTrooper stops Wedge and Biggs in their tracks..So now Wedge and Biggs teams are also using ShoreTrooper, that's lovely. So since ShoreTrooper is soooo good for a counter to Wedge and Biggs teams I need to unlock him today before payout to get me some crystals...oh wait where's the tournament? When's the next tournament? Well dang it...their goes my reliable counter for Wedge and Biggs.
No he doesn't. He doesn't get a turn. That's not stopping Wiggs at all. Plus it's already been established that I'm Offence you should win, so why have videos of Wiggs destroying ShoreTrooper teams on offence been around. These video keep proving my original point. ShoreTrooper is now the highest health toon in the game. If Wiggs is able to kill him before he even gets a turn then something is wrong. That's too much damage and still needs a buff. Also calling out names is against Forum Guidelines, so you got off lucky here without a report
What's interesting is a 4* unmaxed shore actually beat a loaded wiggs team. As for def, until wiggs, def was porous. Wiggs was really the 1st squad that could hold despite a bad ai. My sole purpose was to show that wiggs can now be beaten. As for shore losing on def, today, now that wiggs has a counter, there isn't a squad that is perfect on def. No one wins every time. So I fail to see the point of calling attention to def.
Just think what a 7* shore can do.
You clearly don't understand the concept of "holding rank". There has to be a squad that will hold your rank at the very least 25% of the time. With Wiggs attacking you there is 0% chance that you will defend successfully. That's broken and OP. You can auto complete with minimal targeting nearly every fight with Wiggs which shouldn't be the case with anybody.
Let's just agree to disagree. For my part I am showing evidence where there was no planning or rehearsals of battle. The 1st battle was recorded on each video, and in each case shore easily comes out on top against wiggs.
BTW, you're trolling can use improvements.
