Running into JC and chewy in gw is far worse then sid

Prev1
Not at first mind you. It's when your at the last node and you run into chewy+ a healer. Impossible to win against that combo at times do to all my good characters being dead it's just so frustrating not being able to beat this combo. I'd rather run into Sid every node then fight this combo at the last node.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you are level 50.

The op is the same guy that said Chewie, JC, and I think he also included Barris was the most op combo in the game. His first thread about this was quickly moved to off topic and then shortly afterwards deleted.

He also has an active thread about GW being more fun when it's hard. The contradicting nature of his threads has me confused.

Never said it was the most OP combo it's a good combo not OP. And I do enjoy gw when it's hard but that don't mean it can't be frustrating. I'm just saying there are more bothersome character then sid.

I think it's repetitively seeing sidious in 8 out of 10 nodes that people don't like. Not that he is hard to beat.

You did, and then began to insult people for disagreeing with you. It's the reason it got deleted. Unfortunately that means it no longer exists so it's not worth going back and forth on.

On topic, Chewie is one of the worst tanks in the game for PvP, and JC is not a threat. If you're genuinely looking for advice, then it helps to provide more info about your squad and other available toons so that people can offer advice. If you're just ranting about Chewie and JC being strong, dont expect to find many, if any, who agree.

    I usually see sid 11/12 or 12/12

I LOVE Barris with chewie in gw. It lets me reset all my cooldowns with no danger. The two do no damage. Take out the toons around them and let your cooldowns reset

Chewie is a godsend in GW. Damage sponge to reset cooldowns. Even better with JC so he can heal him up and Barris or Lumi can heal your squad. Just get some debuffers for your squad to get rid of the taunt. Ventriss is great at lower levels.

I had a hard node on my new alt FTP account today.

    Barriss
    Stormtrooper
    Royal Guard
    Chewie
    Sid

By hard I mean I actually lost a hero.
Now the problem is at level 48 you dont have enough DPS to burst anything down fast enough. So I got moved from taunter to taunter to taunter and RG kicking in now and then. It was impossible to kill Sid early enough to prevent a death. SO I just subed in my own chewie to eat healing immunity and moved on.

I can't think of another combo that I would like to fight.

When I had trouble finishing GW, I hated trying to kill Sid with my b and c squads because he just kills and heals himself, no chance what so ever to win against him with 40 lvl 30-40 toons.

    +1

Im assuming that anyone why finds Chewie/JC/Barris anything other than an easy cool down reset team is likely low level or just over all not very skilled in this game

It is only a problem when Chewie taunts your toons, absorb all the attacks then heal. This is why QGJ is always the first toon to farm in cantina shipment. Once you have Humbling Blow, Chewie is easy to deal with.

Barriss and or chewie is a god send in GW. Easy way to get ur team to full health and all cooldowns reset.

I HATE dooku/sid/kylo combos in one team:( dodges and heal immunity galore

Chewie is good toon for GW as you keep him till the end to recharge all your CDs...
Sid it bad as his debuff lasts long (longer than Kylo's or IG-88's). And you have problem: eigher you got your char killed, or you waste Bariss heal with long CD or you wait untill it fades and spend your heal and you have no time left for CD recharge... Sid is pain in the neck in GW because of CD saves.

Dude...I can't say you're wrong because there are a lot of things worse than Sidious. And pretty much any assist character can insta kill Sidious.

Except it's not a good combo. Or even remotely bothersome. They're a free now-i-reset-my-cooldowns-while-i-slowly-kill-this-fat-barriss+chewbacca-who-deal-no-damage.
The hard GW nodes are the ones with dangerous buffs/ debuffs and burst damage - poggle, poe, ST han, together with high damage teams.
My lumi leader passive alone will keep my team nearly maxed, no need to even use her heal or daka's, while i focus characters 1 by 1.
I don't know what kind of disaster team you run if you think chewbacca and JC are even remotely hard.

Exactly what I was going to say. I'd fight that combo every day of the week because they do close to no damage and don't block healing and allow you to reset cool downs. A blessing, this combo is...

All, there are two things we all have to remember.

One - many people are f2p and don't all have lots of DPS early in the game. Then a chewie who has made blue gear and a healer can be a pain. If you can't burn down the other teams DPS or Sid before Chewie taunts - then Sid giving your toons heal block and a DPS character starts targeting them and there is a decent chance you lose a toon or one of your toons is dangerously low in health at the end of the fight. This and many of the players are no where near the level cap. Chewie and a healer was a pain at level 50, becomes a joke at level 60+

Two - not everyone has the same toons or the knowledge of this forum from the beginning. If you've never played a game like this with a challenge like GW it takes a while to get used to. Saving your specials, timing everything out to have cool downs set by beginning of every round, etc. Too many players focus on a single team for arena and this kills you on GW. Luckily I had played Heroes Charge so I knew what it was all about and focused on keeping 10+ toons near level and healers. Leaving everyone else at level 1 til I hit the level cap.

In other words give the new players a break, help them if you can, ignore them if you can't stop yourself from calling them stupid.

With Royal Guard becoming a meta staple, many players found themselves too far away to realistically farm him to a playable version. They needed an alternative. This and the bogus data mined info regarding a potential Scoundrels event, had a lot of the more creative and daring players completing Chewy as a compromise to meta. Turns out... A maxed out Chewy is a beast, and is a really good alternative to Royal Guard. Once you face one of these Chewy improvised teams, you will understand.

Yeah leaving these two for last is amazing. I had a match yesterday where they burst my Dooku down and I was able to cycle through 3 Daka heals before he rezzed. Just chipped away at Barriss and let her heal.

I think I would pay money to only face characters like these as mentioned in the op in galactic war. THAT would be a godsend.
