2) "Your mission is to acquire the secret Imperial plans." Rogue One is about obtaining the plans to the first Death Star. So why not. Perhaps something with ships involved here?

Yup its obvious. Everyone seems to forget that this is a preparation for new Rogue One movie that is soon here.
Maybe, maybe. Hopefully not "Cee 3PO" (not that he would be awful but what could he do in game, talk toons to death?) R2 looked pretty cool in some of the footage I've seen on Youtube.

The two groupings of three dots are not placeholders for letters, but just normal ellipsis. Note that they are spaced further out than the missing letters, and match the spacing of the ellipsis that finish "bring your strongest squad..."
Totally disagree. The 1st dots come directly after the word ends, the decoded transmission has a space, 3 dots then another space. Plus wouldn't make sense as a transmission to cut it off there. The spacing seems exactly the same as the other words too. Have no idea what the 2 words could be though. Would be funny if it was the pig and we all had to unlock gamorian guard
"Your mission is to acquire" is what the first part looks like. The second part "... ..." could be "the AAT" or just "AAT AAT". Star Wars called the tank in the movies "AT AT" or "AT ST" so a slight change would fit.
I wonder if it's "Old Saw". We have an Old Ben. In Rogue One, Saw Guerrera will be an old man after having fought for years on his planet in the clone wars.

That would mean the Empire are intercepting the transmission, which means the Rebels didn't have a plan going into Scarif. Unlikely.
