A lot of people seem to think that the next event will be scoundrel based. This has apparently been datamined so it could be true. However, I believe a scoundrel event could clearly not follow the same pattern (and thus probably not the same reward as the Yoda one) as of now. Why? Because there are simply not enough characters for this to happen.
For the Jedi event, we had a pool of 14 characters to participate, 11 of which are farmable for F2P (hardly for some) and 3 Chromium exclusives.
However, when we look at the Scoundrel pool of characters, we do not have the same depth: We only have 7 characters, of which, to my knowledge, only 5 are farmable (Chewbacca, Boba Fett, Mob Enforcer, Nute Gunray and Greedo) and 2 are exclusives (Cad Bane, Lando Calrissian).
While the farmable toons are well placed (Chewi being on Cantina nodes, Greedo and Nute in Arena, and Boba + Mob Enforcer in Cantina shipments), we are missing 1 or 2 farmable options before the event would be viable, one being on GW shipments.
Hence, until we see an anouncement for new scoundrel characters added to the game and/or one or some exclusive characters added to farmable nodes or shipment, it is unlikely that we will see a scoundrel event similar to the one we had.
That leaves us with three questions:
If they add characters before the event, which one would be more likely? Jango Fett? Bossk? Aurra Sing? Dengar? Boussh? Han Solo?
If they do not add a character before the event, how will it be shaped as opposed to the Jedi one?
What would be the reward for the event? A toon? Lots of Credits?
What do you think?

Nute Gunray is available in the squad arena shipments, so that makes 5 farmable Scoundrel characters. I also believe it is going to be a scoundrel event with Han! But I'd also like to see Jango, Bossk and Dengar to make an appearance as well eventually!
Oh my bad, I'll edit my post then.
Moving Cad Bane or Lando to a Shipment Store, like Qui Gon was would make the number of characters available tight but doable.
I imagine that a Scoundrel Event would follow the Yoda example and unlock a highly desirable character in the same faction.
Han Solo would be a natural reward for a Scoundrel event.
When is the droid challenge coming? I'm ready for that!
I would bet if it's a scoundrel event that it would be credits as a reward, maybe fighting against Jabba
With all the complaining that people have been doing, myself included, a credit event would make sense
Most especially, I hope this event is actually fun and gives us something to do! With only 5* Jedi I was literally done with the Yoda event in under 15 minutes. That's a lot of coding effort for minimal player entertainment value (though Yoda himself is fun, the event was very ephemeral.)
Wouldn't be much fun using that team
If it's going to be a character unlock event, I really hope they unlock at 1* and you can build them from there lol
This, exactly. I couldn't even play since I don't have five Jedi, and the thought of diverting all efforts just for such limited play didn't appeal to me. It's a good event to have, and a nice eventual goal to strive for but as far as new & exciting content, meh. Bring on the ships!
This is what worries me, they are just looking for people to dump $60 every time they bring out a new event and since no future event will have Yoda as the reward, I won't be dropping any cash for any future event
Second that. It was a pain and expensive for me to prepare the 5 Jedis. And they're going to lie useless for the most part.
In fact now that I have Yoda, I'll take the next events as they come. I just wanted Yoda in my roster, had ruled him out for Arena the day he was released (thanks, big fishes).
If the requirement for the scoundrel event is 5 scoundrels, I doubt anyone outside of the biggest fishes would be interested. Yoda is Yoda and almost everyone had at least JC/Lumi.
Yoda will come back monthly.
Exactly, I hope the devs understand that there is no one left, not Jedi Luke, Scoundrel Han, the emperor or any other character that will get people excited like Yoda did.
Not sure even the big fish will be up for that, unless they already have the team. Those who only spend a little of the game will prob ignore, f2p won't care as most scoundrels suck, and whales will probably already have the team and won't need to spend anything to get it
I know, I have him at 5* and should be able to get 7* by next event, I was referring to them coming out with a new event (say scoundrel), having a $60 hero pack for people to buy. See my above post. Nothing will excite people like Yoda did
This. If the new events simply make a new group of characters required, you wont see even the same number of people spend as you did for Yoda. Yoda is Yoda - he's iconic and the Grand Master.
Secondly, the whales likely already have the rosters to complete the events - while the F2P (and likely the dolphins) - wont, and aren't going to start chasing their proverbial tales if it's clear that the goal is simply that (i.e. have everyone who isn't a whale drop $60-$100 every month on the new team flavor needed to complete the event).
I will be deeply disappointed if this is the direction the new money grabs events start to go in.

Why rule out Yoda in arena? He is a very good arena character.
This I would be okay with - it'd even be a cool way to introduce new characters. Kinda like a Grand Opening event. lol
Then the new character could have shards also available somewhere (i.e. arena shipments, or GW, etc.)

The scoundrel characters all suck, pardon my French, so unless they all get buffed through the roof and the reward is the the most OP character ever or 20 million credits, it will be the tree that falls in the forest that no one hears
At the very least, one of the Jedi forms of Luke Skywalker would get people up for a challenge.
The list of characters that may still get enough response is still endless.
Smuggler Han Solo?
General Grievous?
Darksaber Darth Maul?
I mean sure we're not talking Yoda iconic, but certainly enough to convince people to do a challenge (especially if they make them strong characters).
I've played F2P games where people compete over much, much less.
Never tell me the odds!
