Stun gun appearance are RNG just like any other gear piece (although the frequency is certainly lower than some other gear). I will go through periods when I can't get a single gun from either GEC or shard stores, then suddenly they show up in droves. It's all RNG. There's been no reduction in the rate.
I'd like to see your data on this. Just like people who make a claim that rates have dropped have to show their data, people who make the claim that there has been no reduction in rate and that it falls within RNG have to be able to back that up with data.
Otherwise they are just spouting nonsense.
Except CG's various announcements they don't change drop rates, occurances and if they do they will tell us...which is far from nothing. That's what exactly happened upon the fleet energy change, fleet node drop rates changed and were announced as such.
The null hypothesis is not to assume the occurances changed, or -we don't know-, it's that they didn't change and have to proven otherwise if they did change.
I will slightly modify my original statement. I am a pretty seasoned player (Nov ‘16 shard) I do not think the Omega crunch is nearly as bad as originally thought and I am extremely careful with how I spend them. Currently, I have 80 Omegas and 62 Zeta mats and have all Seps and GR abilities leveled. The one major issue I have is that some gear (stun guns specifically) are a real problem. I no longer see them in the guild shop like I used to, and I rarely see them in the shard shop - although they do show up from time to time. I buy gear w crystals I save up from finishing number 1 in both arenas so that is how I am able to get guns for the most part. I won’t farm them in various nodes because I’m too busy farming g12+ and g13 gear atm. Anyway, thank you all for the good comments.
