So sad I didn't level and gear up Greddo before the update. If I knew beforehand by being published in the update note I would have worked on the latter during the time when the update was announced and when it was implemented.
So there are two greedo's in the game as of now and for the foreseeable future. The ones' that got him to g9, and those that didn't and can't. I've never seen anything like this in a game before.

If they let people know before everyone would farm greedos gears and wouldnt get caught in this gear trap, thus less money for CG, so naturally it was conveniently overlooked, as are all changes that would prevent them making more money
In this situation it was either take away gear from those who already farmed for it to get Greedo to 9, or take the action we did. Once the level cap is introduced in the future everyone will be able to get Greedo to the same gear level.
And again, no changes were made to any other characters regarding gear. I checked with our designers on this and was told only Greedo was affected.
I supported your bank energy refill idea changes because it's gives an unfair advantage and against the spirit of competition ( in your own words )

U could have just made no changes or refund mats for those level 9 gear , but it's always the easy way out
Here are some stats that changed when looking at his gear at level 8:
- 800 Less HP
+ 25% more potency (bombs stick better)
+ 256 more AD (stronger physical damage)
+9 speed (faster!)
So yes, he lost a bit of health, but he does hit harder and is faster now.
800 health loss is almost 8%. That's significant.
TD is still a paper tiger if it can't kill. Therefore, +25% potency is nearly meaningless.
Stronger attack is useless if he is dead because of low health, which brings us to health steal. Dropping health steal from 25%to 5% hurts. Here's why: in a battle that lasts 5 turns, Greedo will usually land five basic attacks for an average of about 4k (no smart player uses TD regularly right now). So he could gain back about 5k health via health steal. Now he only gets 1k. Combined with lower health, he will die much quicker.
Oh, and speed? I had him at 117 at gear 9. An increase of 5 at gear 9 is fairly insubstantial. You bumped him more significantly at 8, sure, but we should be looking towards endgame by this point.
This is the antithesis of moderate, incremental changes that you espoused when justifying changes to Poe. Two rather significant changes were made to reduce health with moderate increases in other areas. I have invested some time in leveling and gearing Greedo and I think this could move him from a viable arena and GW character to the bench.
If, on the other hand, the health steal change was inadvertent and can be changed back, along with making TD lethal again and/or reduce detonation to 1 turn, we could call it a wash and Greedo would still be great.
My Greedo: 6* lvl65 GL 8, it appears I could advance to GL 9 but interestingly, the required lvls and components needed to fill slots on GL 8 are totally different. I would not be able to achieve my current power level (just short of 4700) with my current progress now. All I know is...HE IS A BEAST! LET'S KEEP IT THAT WAY!
Just remember that it's not greedo that matters in the grand scope of things.
Adjusting heroes like this in secret, whether by mistake or not will erode the player confidence over time. Repeating the same mistake in grand fashion two times in a row is horrible.
I too work in software development and if this was my firm, we would be looking for new clients now. It doesn't work that way since their "clients" are us, but I hope they get their ship tightened and back on course.
This is absurd! You can't have two people with different stats on greedo in a strategy game where numbers matter!
And saying they will be fine at level 80 is a cop out answer, 90% of the community doesn't even want a level cap raise yet! So either the cap raise comes faster or the disparity between greedos lasts longer.
This thread has blown up today and somehow we mostly stayed within the one thread. I say good job community, bad job devs.
I also want to apologize if I ever sounded like I was throwing Jesse under the bus, but the devs are nameless folk hidden away in a room somewhere. (Or lounging on a beach)

I didn't know it was a RG challenge, I stopped at the end of Ls6. Now I'm going one of those who have a problem

I consider that it's an unfair advantage that some people have better geared Greddo than others.
In the spirit of fair competition I would have all Greddo equal.
This is what the devs told you?
They nerfed his life steal from 25% to 5%. So:
1) they devs changed that, and didn't even know they did, just like they fixed the speed bug that they didn't even know it was broken
2) they knew it, but blindsided you and chose not to tell you
3) they told you, but you chose not to tell us
None of these are good options.
