The part where he says "will have you playing with other players like never before" makes me drool.
I wouldn't get your hopes up. When has anything we've been promised been even remotely as good as they hyped it to be?
This is just a distraction. They don't have a way to get the gear they are now requiring, so they are dangling so new game play mode to get the heat off them for a while. It seems to be working. Everyone's so excited for guilds/coop they have already forgotten about the cap raise we didn't want, the combat changes they still haven't delivered, and the gear that is required but doesn't exist...
I think they may have done the extra gear reqs as a way of preventing backlash after the combat update over the time and resources spent on gearing characters before the update drops. They probably thought that if you couldn't craft the gear then you wouldn't gripe about the character changes as much if you didn't like a certain toon after the update.
What they failed to realize is that people probably already had several crafted in anticipation of the cap increase and that it would bring a pretty big imbalance to the game. On top of that, they announced the gear req changes before the update, so then people that had the items crafted as many as possible/needed. Now all that didn't craft before also have to devote more resources for the same gear. That's about as unfair as it comes. I'm saying this and I managed to craft a few mk5 Droid callers and a furnace.
Rancor battle could be fun. And VERY USEFULL if we can get the gear we're missing. Guilds are also a great idea. In game chat, group/guild based group events & guild vs guild battles/events. Should mix things up a bit & keep it interesting (hopefully)

Tomorrow, EA is going to apologize for a semantic error in their post. What they meant to say was, "will have you playing with other players like before: never..." lol
This message was delivered in a way that conveyed that content of some sort was going to be here and many will be disappointed to see they're once again playing the waiting game.
It's nice EA will have content for us sometime in the future, perhaps in a month but I feel most will feel it's a day late and a dollar short.
I feel so glad that I saw this pattern and stayed F2P from day one because I would have been more angry over this. Sadly, I prepared myself to be disappointed last Friday so to see this, I'm not surprised.
I truly feel bad for the people who spent a ton of money only to get little in return as I've now formed friendships with many players and they're people who had faith that EA and CG would come through for them and I hate to see unhappy customers.
I feel EA needs to lower prices 90% across the board since the content clearly isn't frequent enough to justify the high prices. Also know that many players will walk away, regardless of the new Rancor content.
One more thing, if the meta changes in the next update make the grind harder, I'd recommend CG let EA know that the game is pretty much over and they might as well make Endgame plans in May....
That's rather a fact
I'm just curious how they've implemented a Raid system. How would you pick up players, how many will you need, will it be in real time or like actual Arena where AI controls the other player. That kind of speculations.
They aren't going to give us any info on Raids and Guilds guys; it pained them to give us this much info. Hopefully weekly updates will help us understand more...
"Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing more information on our next major update which will launch towards the end of this month. This is our biggest update yet that includes Guilds, Raids, Guild Chat and more. Raids will introduce new rewards you can’t get anywhere else, including new pieces of gear. We can't wait to get it into your hands and hear what you think!"
Also to answer the question, yes, gear that is currently not showing up when doing reverse lookup will come from raids.
Now that's the kind of update we have been looking for. Thanks.

Better: "will have you paying with other players like never before..."
LOL. That would have to work its way up to being a teaser.
"Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing more information on our next major update..." - Apparently not counting this week because that was 18 seconds with no information in it whatsoever.
You guys can't even build excitement competently.
Even worse, people have spent $500 and more on this level of content. Shameful...
Well I posted my idea on this 20 days before it announced.
In my opinion they should add guild search option to in game ,because not everyone shall bother to connect browser and search forum for that.In game invite at least..
You will never find a more wretched hive of trolls and hilarity.
Darn. Sounds tempting. Can I book a place for myself?
Sure. It isn't quite ready yet, because... what's the point really? Just you and I so far. Who else is interested? It's called "galactic Space slugs and the women who love them."

I'm curious if people have an idea/expectation/speculation on how time-consuming this new game format will be. From the statement about new gear available only in raids, it will be required gameplay to be competitive, not optional like e.g. "guild chat."
Personally, I invested $ in this game because it wasn't a giant time-suck. I was just about to invest another round of $ into this, but now I'm concerned that they are about to turn this into a 2-3+ hour/day habit (if you want to be competitive) with less flexibility about when you play. That would likely be the end of GoH for me, so I'm just looking for some insight to help me decide whether to hold off on the spending.
"Stay tuned later this week! We have exciting news about an announcement we'll be making next week covering an update later that week that discusses the announcement in mid-April that describes the second teaser!"

Are you guys satisfied?
inb4 this is merged
Nah, they are not going to do that.
I guess friend list and guild list for raids.
