Admittedly my Clone Wars lore is rusty but didn't the father specifically ask Anakin to take over for him? Wouldn't that be a mortal becoming a Mortis god? **Not arguing here, just asking, because my memory is fuzzy and it sounds like yours isnt.
I should have said that I was assuming Balen standing on the statue of the father (with the son behind him) was an indication Balen would find the son. After your post it would make more sense that the father statue was pointing towards Abeloth and thats where Balen is heading.

That's the biggest issue I have with the state of things right now. Disney has not yet comitted to even making a season 2.

Anakin is unique. He was created by the Force itself, he has unrestricted potential and currently represents both sides. Plus even though beeing special - he couldn't replace father while being Vader at the time.
And, one more thing, this is not the planet Anakin visited in CW, there are too many easter eggs that relate to ancient races and not just to Nightsisters.
On the other matter, funny but with this episodes I felt like Dave made characters for Swgoh.

You're right, Mortis is the realm of the force which can represent itself as a planet... but also differently. Don't know why I thought the father was named so aswell. Maybe because he represents "everything".
I guess it is possible that where Ahsoka was while she was between life and death might also have been Mortis.
It looked like Shin wanted to rally the bandits under her as leader.
I think Ezra will tell Hera what happened and his return should provide enough proof that Republic will believe them that Thrawn is back.
What is more interesting is that Thrawn first went to Dathomir so it's easy to assume that he has some kind of plan with the 3 Sisters. Getting back or reviving other Sisters? Or creating Sisters? We don't really know how Sisters are born or made.
Only thing I'm hoping for is they go into detail about Baylan / what he's looking for etc
I don't want an epilogue where Baylan goes somewhere and they zoom in his face and he says something like "This is what i have been searching for" and they do a fade to black and not even reveal anything and save it for S2

Fetch quest 2.0 honestly. Really disappointed with the show, prison ship with no escort transporting highly valuable prisoner stops and lets a ship with jedi codes board it, and takes in 6 dude with holstered pistols to confront them? How did these incompetent geniuses over throw the empire?
And oh look another person getting stabbed by a lightsaber and surviving it, loghtsaber wounds are now like the flue, you get it, sleep it off and wulah you are as good as new, unless you are a jedi and than you will die 100%
