This is the second iteration of Adaptive f2p guide. We created previous one, because all other were outdated and since @Raw stopped playing it’s time to refresh it a bit. You can find original one here: https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/86926/adaptive-f2p-guide/p1
Guide focuses on most effective way of being competitive in both arenas as well as presents the fastest way of unlocking end game content while still remaining f2p. Before we start I want to strongly insist for every player to be focused on farming, gearing and leveling a very limited amount of characters. Biggest drawbacks of being f2p are limited resources: crystals and credits. Best way to use them:
- Crystals – daily energy refresh (3x 50 crystals, always), daily cantina energy refresh (3x 100 crystals, preferably 2-3 daily), arena refreshes (it’s always beneficial to invest 50 or more crystals to get better rewards), gear (spend it only in mid-late game)
- Credits – keep squad arena and fleet arena heroes maxed out, only invest in best mods (don’t upgrade mods past 12lvl unless you got stats you wanted), increase star lvl only on heroes you’re currently using.
Now to the proper segment of this guide – how to start off:
1. Many events in game have set timers during a day, so it might be best to change your device timezone before starting the game – it will move every daily reset or payout accordingly, read more about it here (https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/142456/the-perfect-guide-for-the-perfect-start-2017-winter-edition#latest)
2. Every new player will unlock a random hero from his first Chromium pack (350 crystals). Collect them from unlocking achievements. Repeat this process to get a head start (rerolling account, read about it in previous link). Heroes to aim for – TIER 1: Lando, Rex, Baze; TIER 2: Jyn, Chirrut, Ackbar.
The best team to aim for from the begining is Phoenix Squadron. Reasons:
- easy to farm with great survivability and synergy,
- great for early and mid game in squad arena,
- help immensely in finishing galactic war on a daily basis,
- provide access mod challenges and legendary characters: Emperor Palpatine, Grand Admiral Thrawn,
- can finish one battle in each phase up to phase 5 in Territory Battles (with good mods and gear lvl 8),
- are one of the best teams on defense in Territory Wars,
- can get decent scores in normal raids (not heroic).
Overall they aren’t powerful, but present great survivability and flexibility. You will need them from start to finish.
You can farm unit shards from: Hard nodes, Cantina nodes, Squad arena store, Galactic War store, Guild store, Fleet Arena store, Guild Events store and Shipments. Most will be inaccessible for beginners, but will unlock as you progress. Merchandise in each store will change as well, after some levels – most notably 60 and 80 lvl. If what is described here isn't available for you, then it's probably best to save up currency and spend once it becomes accessible.
Farm schedule:
- Cantina nodes: Hera Syndulla (to 4*), Ezra Bridger (7*), Hera (at least 5*), Lando Calrissian (at least 5*)/TIE Fighter Pilot (at least 5*)/3-5* health mods
Hera is necessary as she has leader ability, but she doesn’t have to be at a high star lvl now. Focus hard on Ezra after 4* Hera. You need at least one 7* for Heroic raid and Ezra is strongest phoenix member. At 69lvl you have to start farming Wedge Antilles. Before that you need to get Lando at least to 5* and farm enough health mods to gear your main arena team (and some for pilots). It would be great if you could farm TFP to at least 5* as well. After Wedge is done get all previous units to 7*.
- Cantina store: Chopper (7*), Ahsoka Tano (5*), Boba Fett (5*), Hoth Rebel Scout (5*)/Fives (at least 5*)
It’s straightforward here – get units in this order. After Boba and Ahsoka are 5*, you can choose who to 7* first – Boba if you need him in arena or Ahsoka for multiple challenges and as pilot. HRS isn't necessary early on, but is needed to fully participate in Light side Terrritory Battles. Fives is necessary if you want ot run a Mace Windu lead fleet, he also is awesome in a Target Lock fleet.
- Squad Arena store: Kanan Jarrus (7*), Stormtrooper Han (at least 5*), (5*IG-88 – farm only if you can’t get Raid Han in time), Admiral Ackbar (7*), Mace Windu (5*), Princess Leia (7*)/Grand Moff Tarkin (at least 5*)
Farm in this order. You need STH and IG88 for Credit Heist. If you manage to get into Heroic Rancor guild early on then you could skip IG88 and get Raid Han instead. Ackbar is your main fleet commander so farm him first. Windu afterwards – defensive mod challenge. Tarkin or Leia – farm order depends on when you want to transition into Wiggs arena team. You need Tarkin for his capital ship challenge and zeta mats challenge (at 78lvl), as well as R2D2 legendary event.
- GW store: Zeb Orellios (at least 5*), Biggs Darklighter (at least 4*), ship shards: Biggs, TFP, FOTP, Consular, Ahsoka. Other ships shards worth getting: Sun Fac, Wedge, Fives.
Farm Zeb to 5* and get Biggs to at least 4* before 60lvl. Finish Zeb and continue with Biggs/ships. You don’t need Biggs 7* right away, so you can focus on ships – JC, Ahsoka and Biggs will be the core of your early fleet. Get TFP and FOTP ship shards fast since they are end game and rarely drop in shop. You will need Wedge, Sun Fac and Fives ships for different challenges. They need to be at 5*. Fives doesn’t need to be rushed.
- Fleet store: Slave I/TIE Advanced/Scimitar (5*), Ghost (5*), Wedge(max 4*), Vader
All 3 ships occupy the same slot in shop and are rare so farm them always. You need 2 of those 3 for challenges, so you can choose which depending on drop rates (best to get all). Farm Wedge and Vader occasionally for faster progress. If you started off with Baze from first chromium – farm Chirrut as a must. Otherwise you can focus on ship shards you desperately need atm. Farm FOTP to at least 4* when you have currency left.
- Guild store: Farmboy Luke/Rey, Rex (7*), Sun Fac (at least 5*), Darth Maul (5*)
After latest update this store is probably the best one out there. You'll get best return on your investment buying green and blue gear pieces, because they are fully crafted ones (ex. Mk3 Detonators, Mk2 Holo projectors, Mk 5 Blastech weapon mod and many more). It will let you allocate more energy into hard node farm. Mk 3 Stun cuffs and Carbanti's are another thing worth investing in, but in end game. Pre 60lvl focus on Luke and Rey – get them to 5*. If you know that there will be a legendary event in near future focus on one of them and get 7*. If you got a lot of whales in arena, best would be to farm Rex to 7* - he will be your next leader after Phoenix. You will also need Sun Fac and Darth Maul for fleet challenge (5*). At later stages of the game you need to get Colonel Starck (4-5* - for DS TB). Units worth farming - Resistance Trooper and Finn - if you decided to farm a Resistance team, Old Ben (if you know CLS event comes shortly), Sith Assasin (great unit for any DS team).
- Hard nodes: Jedi Consular (7*), First Order Stormtrooper (7*), Hoth Rebel Soldier (7*), Chewbacca (5*)
Consular is a must for fleet so best to get him running before 60lvl. Chewbacca can wait – you need him for Credit Heist only. Additionally you can support your progress farming Rey, Boba, Ahsoka or Biggs. Farm FOST and HRS since they can only be aquired from hard nodes (or bronziums). Farm Millenium Falcon (5D). Other units worth farming after you finish some of these are: First Order TIE Pilot (7*), Resistance Trooper (7*),Barriss Offe (7*), Veers (7*), Stormtrooper (7*). All of them can be also farmed from other shops. Remember not to overfarm units. You don’t have to sim all 5 battles on a node. First and foremost focus on getting your main units geared.
- Guild Events store: Scimitar, Veers (4-5*), Krennic/Gar Saxon(5*), gear
It’s an end game store – currency should be spent on g12 gear and Hermit Yoda/Wampa shards. For beginers focus on speeding up your progress by buying Scimitar shards and guns/cuffs/carbanti gear. In time farm Veers for Dark Side Territory Battles - he is also available in hard nodes and bronziums, so 4-5* is max what you should do. Krennic and Gar Saxon are great farms (DS TB leaders), but aren't needed at this part of the game - should be farmed later on (focus on one). You can consider buying Hoth Rebel soldier shards if you desperately need them. Currency in this shop is scarce, so I would suggest saving it up until you have a clear path what you want to farm.
- Shipments
In early game always buy items for credits. As you progress you can buy gear such as Mk3 Holo projectors or gold gear in end game. Here is a useful link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1G7fRR1taw83uBzsh5Ss9LDNqHXplvDK4cHZ6pBQ4jns/edit#gid=1679694163

This guide will let you start off with a Phoenix squad. However don’t overinvest in them. They are great in early and mid game, but fall off a cliff going forward. Get them max to gear lvl8-9. You can invest in g11 for Ezra, he’s worth it. This guide let’s you transition from phoenix squad into traditional Rebels lead by Wiggs (Wedge and Biggs) or Rex. Ezra, Boba Fett, Stormtrooper Han, Lando, Leia or Chaze (Chirrut + Baze) can be easily beat any team in arena.

How to effectively play phoenix squad.
Chopper – usually fastest, so he can dispel any pretaunt. Adjust his speed if opponent has manual taunters to deal with them as well.
Hera and Ezra assists should call Zeb. He can stun 2 ppl in opening round (2 assists + his attack + retaliation if opponent uses aoe).
For survivability play around Kanan’s and Chopper taunts, using Zeb and Kanan protection up.
Early on you can drop Zeb from squad if you got a good damage dealer from chromium – before g7 units don’t have protection so his unique doesn’t boost you at all.
Phoenix are vulnerable to debuffs since they lack a reliable cleanser. Plan accordingly.

Fleet arena
You aren’t limited to any capital ship in this guide. Core team of Biggs, TFP, FOTP, JC, Ahsoka, Ghost can thrive under any lead. For Mace lead you should farm Rex’s ship as well and prioritize Fives. Pls refer to this guide for more info on ships - https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/79552/mostly-inclusive-guide-to-ships/p1
To fully unlock fleet content you need 5x 5* dark side ships and 5x 5* light side ships. Minimal requirements to be successful are: 5x 4* dark side ships (TFP, FOTP, Sun Fac, Scimitar/Slave/TIE Advance) and 8x 5* ships (no restriction) – Biggs, Wedge, Ahsoka, TFP, FOTP, Ghost, JC, Sun Fac. This is the shortest route.

Premium content requirements:
- Yoda event – 5x 7* Jedi: Mace Windu, JC, Ezra, Kanan, Ahsoka
- Palpatine event – 5x 7* Rebels: Phoenix Squadron
- Thrawn event – 5x 7* Phoenix Rebels: Phoenix Squadron
- R2D2 event – 5x 7* Empire: Emperor Palpatine, Tarkin, Darth Vader, TFP, Thrawn
- BB8 event – 5x 7* First Order: Captain Phasma, FOST, FOTP, Kylo Ren, FO Officer
- Chimaera Capital ship - 5x 7* Rebel ships: Biggs, Wedge, Ghost, Phantom II, any U-Wing
- Luke’s Hero Journey – 7* LS units: Old Ben, Farmboy Luke, R2D2, STH, Princess Leia
- Rey’s Hero Journey – 7* LS units: Rey, Finn, BB8, Veteran Han, Veteran Chewbacca
As you can see this guide covers every event outside BB8 and Rey’s. Please do notice that I listed Thrawn in R2D2 event. This can be problematic with bad timing. A solution to that is farming Veers or Stormtrooper from hard nodes (they also can be aquired from other shops and bronziums).
Legendary events rerun every 3-4 months, so you can roughly estimate and plan which units and when to farm. Yoda/Palpatine events run interchangeably every month.

Following this guide you will easily unlock most mod challenges: health, defense, critical chance, tenacity and potency. How you approach rest is up to you. Next do:
- Offense mods challenge – if FOST is at 4* farm FO officer from cantina store, Phasma from GW store, Kylo Ren from cantina node – adjust timing to BB8 event
- Critical Damage mods challenge – if you got Jawa at 4* from bronzium packs then you should focus on this challenge, farm Chief Nebit from Squad store, Jawa Engineer from Guild store, Jawa Scavenger from cantina store, Datcha from GW store. You can farm Jawa and Datcha from cantina node and hard nodes.
- Speed mod challenge – farm Finn from cantina node, farm Poe Dameron from cantina store, farm Resistance Trooper from hard nodes and guild store, farm Resistance Pilot from GW store. You can skip Resistance Pilot if you have R2D2 or BB8.
If you have trouble in arena with “whales” I would suggest getting Critical Damage mod challenge done first. It boosts rebels power, but it’s mainly intended for end game arena. If you know BB8 will come next month I would go for Offense mods challenge – you already have quite a few FO units farmed and BB8 is considered Resistance, so you would have 1 less unit to farm for speed mod challenge.
Overall you will get best return from farming resistance team. Even at lower gear lvl (g8-g9) they can easily finish end game GW. They are currently the best PVE team in game. They’re also considered the best Territory Battle team and can score very high in heroic raids. However they are good only with zeta leader ability from Finn, so they won't be much help before you reach 85lvl (since your main focus for zeta's should be in arena squad).

Finishing Defense mod challenge TIER 2 unlocks 5* mods in Mod store. It's worth having 4m credits saved up at all times in case a very good 5* gold mod with speed secondary shows up. If you're in need of good mods, have a lot of credits saved up and same crystals to spend, then you can refresh mod store. It costs only 15 crystals and can net you some good mods. Take into account that it's a very costly procedure and you should do it at end game.

Guild
I suggest to join guild as soon as possible – the sooner you will start raids, the faster you’ll finish gearing your units – a lot of gear can be obtained only from raids. By spending energy daily you generate raid tickets. Every 6min you get 1 energy point, every 12min you get 1 cantina energy point. A guild can generate 30k raid tickets daily, so try to generate your max of 600 – most guilds require that from everyone. By generating as much as possible, you can raid more often. Daily you can get: 240 normal energy, 120 cantina energy, bonus 45 cantina energy and bonus 3x 45 noemal energy for a total of 540 energy.
Each day of the week there is a different daily guild activity – which rewards every guildmember with currency, here’s that list - https://swgoh.gg/g/activities/.
Raids
As mentioned above - most important is to join a guild generating as close to 30k raid tickets daily, as possible. Raiding regularly is more important than scoring high in every raid. This guide provides you with necessary units to score well in raids. Here you can find a current, dynamic list of best teams for every raid - https://swgohindepth.com/2017/04/13/morningstar-013s-complete-haat-team-list/. Take it with a grain of salt though. Some teams might not be viable anymore once you reach end game.
Territory Battles and Territory Wars
These become available once you reach 65lvl. First is a PvE guild raid-like event and the second is a straight up guild versus guild battle. Both are end game content, so don't be too concerned about it early on. Following this guide you should be able to field enough good Light side teams (phoenix, rebels) to complete quite a few missions early on. Dark side TB is currently bugged so I will add info later on. To get info on minimal unit requirements to complete TB visit (https://www.reddit.com/r/SWGalaxyOfHeroes/comments/7c1kig/completing_territory_battles_with_a_mix_of_high/?st=jal4cqph&sh=a0f446a4) - I can atest that with good mods these teams can do missions with some good RNG. Here is an infographic on opponent skills (https://www.reddit.com/r/SWGalaxyOfHeroes/comments/7azack/territory_battle_enemy_guide_and_why_daze_is_your/?st=jal43xv8&sh=275fbd78). Use daze to your advantage and be wary of snowtroopers counters and assists - it can decimate your team in mere seconds.

As you can see there are some gray areas in this guide as to who to farm and how fast should they be taken to 7 stars. It's premeditated. Almost all units mentioned in this guide should be farmed to 7*. However the order in which you should do it depends on your preference, in game event shcedule and your squad/fleet arena needs.
All in all, please refrain from overpreparing. Game is changing and evolving all the time. Teams I read were good in raids 9 months ago aren’t viable anymore, so when you get to the point I finished this guide, you probably will have more options than I did.

Key notes:
- Stay focused and diligent in farming and gearing units,
- Focus on a limited number of units,
- Always keep level, abilities and most important gear of your arena team to maximum,
- There is no need to hoard crystals in early and mid game - use everything you got on cheap refreshes (3x50 and 3x100),
- If you want to farm 330 shards from cantina, you need about 1000 cantina fights, so at 8 energy a piece that’s 8k energy. That’s an equivalent of 500 mods (5*). Farming a unit from 12 energy cantina node is equivalent of 750 mods, so don’t farm a unit if you lack good mods on your arena team (assuming you got credits to level them up),
- After joining squad arena try to find your shardmates through reddit or forum,
- Try to stick to your payout in arena, be active max 2h before and get info on other shardmate payouts, so you can avoid unnecessary trouble,
- Don't be shy to refresh any store or hard node if you desperatelly need shards of specific unit, it's better to invest some crystals early on than miss on legendary event,
- Join a Heroic Rancor guild as soon as possible, both heroic raids on farm will speed up your progress immensely,
- Get a 7* unit as soon as possible - it will enable you to take part in Heroic raid, blanking that raid is much more profitable than doing normal ones,
- Although gear is most important, try to always have at least 2-3 units on farm from hard nodes, especially in early game. Your progress is limited by lvl, so you won't encounter a huge gear crunch. Use that time to farm necessary units unlocking future content.

  • Please write comments whether this guide presents any value. I will update it in the upcoming week.
    Any constructive criticism is welcome.
  • Some suggestions:
-Prepare sim tickets ( buy from shipment if you have crystal) to be ready for speed up using after going to lv28.
-After completing at least tier 2 Def mod challenge ( allow and increase selling rate mk5 mod in mod store), you should keep at least 4m credits in order to buy good mk5 mods ( have speed secondary attribute ) if they appear.

I really don't want to disappoint you, but u can't get DS characters from your 1st chromium pack. So, DN and B2 drops out.
Also would like to add, that some characters are unavailable in 1st chrom pull:
Wedge - was more than 450+ tries, and if in chrom pack 50 LS characters at all, chance to get Wedge is 2%, but there is no one, who got it.
Phoenix team. I don't know why, but they are also haven't got anyone.

For example, there is a list of chars I've loot personally:
    Rex x2
    Lando
    Lobot x4
    Leia x5
    K2SO x2
    JKG x3
    Ugnaught - x8(!!!!!!!)
    Poe x2
    Gui Gon x2
    Finn
    Mace
    Java Scavenger
    Chirrut x4
    StHan
    Secura x2
    Eeth Koth x3
    Akbar
    Cassian x3
    Chirpa x2
    Jyn
    Obi Wan x2
    Resistance Trooper.

Is there any official information that for new Rey event we need Rey, Finn, BB8, Veteran Han, Veteran Chewbacca?

Thx for feedback. There is nothing offical apartfrom Rey being needed. All in all, it's a given that you'll either need full Resistance team or aforementioned geezers. Put that in as a placeholder since it's most recent speculation - based on Luke's Hero Journey.

  • First of all thanks for all your work. I started few weeks ago and was using that old guide from Raw, I am lvl 59 and I guess it is too late for me to switch to phoenix version now :(
Could you probably help me to create a new better acc strategy for my current situation or should I simple follow the Raw guide further?
I also have no idea which ships should I use as my first fleet and what pilots and ships should I farm first. Could I describe my situation here and ask for advice or I should do this at some other part of the board? In my current guild no one have enough time or knowledge to help me with a fleet strategy unfortunately.

Raw;s guide is still valid, just not as effective at it could be, so no need to switch to this one if you're lvl60. Main difference is that you'll be slower in getting Thrawn and less efficient in TB early on.
On fleet - jsut proceed to get any fleet from Mageduckey guide - I listed it here. You don't need Ghost ship, but rest of strategy is the same, so farm rare dark side ships, vader/chirrut and wedge as was mentioned as well. You can get more basic ships to get aan early head start in fleet arena and more FOTP shards since he's very good.
  • Thanks.
    1. Why is Hoth Rebel Soldier needed?
    2. My current arena team Lando 5* g7 (L), STH 5* g7, Biggs 6* g7, Boba 5* g8 and JC g8 4*. I want to replace JC I guess Wedge is the best thing for that as soon as I will be farm him at lvl 69. ISt ist also better to replace Boba with Leia or should I keep him?

    1. HRS is needed for Territory Battles that unlock after 65lvl. He can only be farmed from this one node and bronzium packs. He was recently added to TB store, but I wouldn't waste my currency on him. I will tweak guide a bit.
    2. Depends on your roster and where you are now. Boba is a must have in mid game and can be viable in end game arena. JC, Lando and STH are units you would sub out before Boba. As always - strategy depends on who you're facing.

What level are you? What teams do you face in arena? I would swap out JC for leia now and put in wedge for boba once you have him, then change leader to Wedge. If you're facing a lot of dispel use boba instead of STH, if you're facing a lot of counter use boba for lando
  • What about the Kylo Ren, which everyone gets from the Battlefront 2 Release? Is he a good toon when i want to start my alt account?

He's a good toon early on. Can be your 5th for quite some time. His real value comes from his zeta on Outrage, which can be achieved past 82lvl. However he can only be farmed from cantina and you have more important units to get first. Ideally he can be farmed after Wedge - he can be slotted in a rebel team as 5th for certain marches.
    Anyone thinks differently ?

I am 60 now and I am facing mostly nightsisters teams and sometimes I just don't do enough damage to kill Mother and Old daka fast enough. Maybe I should stop on 6* STH and farm Leia first to replace JC.

STH won't be a full fledged tank until he's at g10-11. Idk if farming Leia will help anything - she will be ready in couple of weeks. Try using ackbar lead and timing his tactical genius onto Lando DD. Honestly I think that Ackbar, Lando or Boba lead are best, because they provide speed, CD boost or assists. It's best if you just nuke the hell out of them. STH is there just to die quickly providing as much TM as possible. When I used that team I put every speed mod on STH, so he could start off with taunt.

Thanks a lot for your help :)

    I have few more questions:
    1. At what level should I start to farm health mods? I did only tier one health mode challenge. When I should try second and thrid in order to get the 5-dot-health mods in store? Should I farm health mods at all before 5-dots? I have only 1/2-dot-mods now and use all the energy for cantina fights only completely ignoring the mods. Could it be a changer in my arena fights if I will farm and install appropriate 2-3-dot mods on Arena team? (I've installed all I had with speed and protection on STH, speed on Boba and critcial chance on Lando but I didn't really farm modes)
    2. Putting all I have only in arena team I noticed that I have more and more troubles with GW fights, I rarely bypass the 9-th node and earlier I was able to do all 12 pretty often. I guess the problem is that the strength of the teams are adjusted to my 5 best toons and I simply don't have a half good second team to push to the end or to take out few fights in the beginning . Should I ignore this and simple continue pushing the main team and waiting when It gets to g10-g11 and only after that start with second team (f.e. that reistance team that I've read is capable to finish all nodes in one run alone? Or should I freeze current team at g7-g8 and try to farm second team (f.e. dark pilots team + Kylo + RG) to g-7 g-8. Or is it too dangerous for my arena ranking (not that I am high there anyway I am between place 500 and 600 winning 3-5 out 5 fights daily :()

    1. Arena fights are won or lost because of mods, so sure, mods will help you a lot. However early game is a problem, because there's to many things to farm. You should farm some 2-3* mods if your 1-2* are bad, to give arena team a boost. Switch unused 1-2* mods on pilots (to boost ship strength) or other usefull units helpful in GW. Try to finish Tier 2 or 3 of mod challenge as soon as possible and then farm 4-5* mods. Any excessive investment in 3* mods will be wasted since they won't be usefull in end game, 4* rarely will be as well. Overall - you should farm 5* health mods before 69lvl - then you need to start farming Wedge. Try different tactics to 3s Tier 3, often it's about RNG.
    2. GW will be hard becasue of power creep. Only phoenix and resistance teams get surefire wins. Arena is more important than GW so focus on main team. Overall, you just need to strategize more. You have to remember that GW is partially rigged (set up) - same actions will generate same responses from enemies - so playing a battle 10 times and doing same moves will always net you same result. Abuse it by retreating and trying different aproach or different targets. If you don't have a good second team, then switch 1-2 units in your team on early stages - this will help you gain TM on multiple units outside your main team w/o downside in performance. Use as many tanks as you can - RG, SF or even Zombie. Read more here: https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/127168/is-your-galactic-war-too-hard-here-is-some-help#latest
This guide won't be effective if you're in 500-600 range. You get far too few crystals to help you farm what you need. It's still the best way to get the most out of the game, but you'll fall short to others that rank in top50.

Thanks. Well I've started to use Raws' guide too late I guess :) Unfortunately there is nothing to do about it now, cause I don't want to start over with another google account for some reasons. So I will try to adjust raw's or your build as good as I can. Anyway you helped me a lot. Thank you :)

It's just about fun so as long as you're happy then it's all good. Guide is meant to present most effective way to unlock all modes and be competitive. You don't need to be the best as long as you're having fun. There is far too many ppl out there who forgot about it, so just enjoy the game :)
  • Hello! Im a lv 58 player, Ive been using a jedi team, I focused on them since the beggining and 2 days ago I realized that the game is a long-term strategy farming game ( I didnt read any guide or the forums till yesterday  ) so here I am, trying to fix that blind picks I did in the very early stages of the game. Id like some advise, some guidelines, I hope it isnt too late. I really like Jedi and they do well on light side battles and GW but I got stuck in Arena ladder.

ou won't go anywhere with Jedi now. They're just subpar in arena until we get any rework. They're ok under zeta QGJ lead, but fall short before you can aquire his ability. If you want ot stick with them, then best is to farm QGJ from cantina store, get Ezra from cantina node and farm JC from hard nodes.
For fleet go with Mace lead. To be good you need to farm Close Seargent - either from hard nodes or Fleet Store once you get it. Fives would be a good choice once QGJ is done.
To sum it up - situation is bleak, jsut because most content is locked behind Rebels and you have almost none. For arena - currently there is no way for you to climb up - focus on ship arena since you should be able to get at least so-so results there and a steady income of crystals would help you catch up, just a bit.

If you wnat to play for fun then doing what I wrote will probably net you best results for now. You won't get far w/o farming at least the basic rebels to unlock content. All you need is in guide. However if you want to be competitive and get results then I would consider starting over.
  • Have you updated the guide given the rework of the different stores? Or do the recommendations of who to buy from each store still apply?

Not much did change, but I will update it today, adding TW and TB portion and guild shop update.
I would appreciate if anyone did provide some info on shard availability in guild store before 60lvl.

You need STH and IG88 for Credit Heist.
Is IG88 is a must or I can replace him with Greedo (less shards to farm) or with Cad Bane (it is easier for me to get GW tokens compared to Troop arena tokens) I need troop arena tokens to farm STH to 7* and then Leia and then Ackbar as my fleet commander and then Tarkin for challenges and so on... and the GW tokens used only for ships and pilots for now. Or the IG-88 is somehow superior to Greedo and Cad Bane or those GW tokens are much much more valuable compared to troop arena that I can't spare 50 of them for Bane?

I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding as to Credit Heist: as far as I can tell, you do not need five 5s scoundrels to enter the highest tier, but they need good gear cause mine got smashed last time (g7-8 for 7s StH, Boba and Lando, g5-6 for two Chewies at 3s and 4s).

You however need five 5s for the scoundrel mod challenge, but cc mods aren't that much of a priority (imo) that getting five 5s Scoundrels shouldn't be anywhere near top priority when you start.

You can substitute IG88 with any scoundrel.

Credit Heist basically comes down to using Lando and Boba at g8 or so. STH is needed to give protection for last round. You can't sim CH, so whether you finish it with 1 unit standing or 5, doesn't matter. I only geared those 3 units, Chewbacca and IG88 were lvl 60 g5.
CC mods are a MUST when you switch to rebel team for arena. Rebels are useless if they can't score critical hits.
  • Thank you so much for this guide! I saw the earlier guide and was preparing to enter into the arena shard so I have been saving up energy. I want to level to 40 when I enter the shard. But now I have seen this updated version so I have some questions with my starting arena squad and how do I transform it into the phoenix squad.

    1. Should I always use my highest powered characters in my arena squad even if they are not pheonix?

    2. You can see my characters at swgoh.gg under azeotrope. Is this the squad I should start with? Chew, Farmboy Luke, Jedi Counsular, Chirrut, Biggs (or Kylo, not sure which one to use).

    3. If that is good starting arena team then I don't know how to transition to the Pheonix squad but I was thinking that I would replace each character with a pheonix character as soon as the pheonix character was stronger. This is how I was thinking to replace them: Chew -> Hera; Farmboy Luke -> Chopper; JC -> Kanan; Chirrut -> Zeb; Biggs (or Kylo) -> Ezra.

So how do you suggest I transition my team? Also, I am sure some of the characters will level faster than others (like I can get the cantina ones faster). So how will that play in making the squad?

    Thanks for your help!

If you are level 40 you will destroy your shard in PvP if you join very early in the shard.

I joined my shard on Monday. It created on Saturday.

On Friday there was 21 people under level 40 in the top 50. Today there is two. Level really helps you place.

Secondly every character in the game has three techniques, zero, one or two unique abilities and maybe a leader ability.

What makes Phoenix special is that if you have a team led by hera I've they all share their unique abilities. So the more phoenix characters you have the better they are. So let's say Kanan may be weaker but since he gives the other four counter damage ability he may be worth using despite being weaker. So a phoenix team usually hits above its gp. Which is good as it doesn't have the same gp other teams may have with similar stars gear and levels.

I'm not sure but I would imagaine that the fact that you will be levels ahead may allow you to dominate your shard even if your team itself is sub optimal.

The one advice I would have is to consider what resources improve your for now team are scarce and which resources to improve your for now team are easily replaceable. For example you may want to conserve ability mat iii for your new team.

Also make sure to get a lot of high level allies that shares dark side characters. You will need to progress dark side battles for gear but your main team is light side and most of your 'for now's team is light side as well.

Also bear in mind you will be very light on scoundrels so will be unable to do credit heists. I assume,e you are in a guild. If so pick one and farm them from the guild store as it is a source you are not farming phoenix from.

Can you edit this? It is difficult to understand what you are saying with the grammar being messed up. Are you saying that I should conserve my mat iii for the phoenix team?

Sorry I was trying to say it in too few words lol.

I'm saying you should conserve anything that's scarce for when you change over if you are close to changing over and you don't need it.

If having a 12 level advantage wins you fights then you don't need to spend any resources that are scarce upgrading your 'for now's.

I am not sure what level ability material iii comes into the ability mat challenges but if it's after level 27 it will be scarce for you. If you are winning in the arena with your current team (due to level advantage) and you are happy with your ranking it may be best to save the ability mat iii for phoenix squad when you change over.

When you switch you probably be able to upgrade all your abilities to level 4 (level 40--45 ish) or 5 (level 46-50).

I would imagine if you did the ability challenges while saving up energy you have a decent amount of level I and level ii mats so that's not scarce. Level iii mats are scarce and when you switch you will need a lot of them.

Similarly with gear if phoenix squad will be your main team and you are winning without gear upgrades don't focus on getting them. Look at the gear needed for your phoenix squad instead.

I hope this is more understandable.

Just after checking this bit. You need three scoundrels for the first tier of credit heist. I think you only have Chewie at the moment. I'm not sure what to reccomend.

I would reccomend Dengar as he is the easiest to pick up in the guild store without disrupting other farming. Not sure where else you can pick another scoundrel up without disrupting other stuff.
