The original post was “neutral” not minimal. You should know you started the thread. If you choose to take the second statement you have just allowed CG to not stand by their first statement.
You are correct, I will allow people to get close and keep an understanding that, that was the intention the whole time. I also understand that certain things do not work out the way everyone wants them to, but they are still going to do their best to make things happen.
I also understand that there is an input of effort vs outcome examination of every situation, and that some projects have a scope that doesnt allow for certain things to be addressed to the fullest extent.
I also understand that the losses here are fairly minimal, but not "non existant", and IMO if they plan to address it, as they have stated as firmly as they can at this time, then this is a good situation and change that will benefit everyone and I would prefer their time/effort be put into other things than addressing this further.
I understand you are happy to drop it. Feel free to do so, it is absolutely your right. I am not happy to drop it.
When every game mode (especially new ones) is dependent upon high gear levels, any nerf to the acquisition of gear is of the most importance to me. The new content rewards being slowed by needing niche faction-based characters and gear for niche factions and nerfing that gear only makes the new content less engaging and rewarding. This is especially important for GC content and the new mod slicing materials IMO.
Its unfortunate that you would prefer them sink time into this rather than tackling the real economy changes that would help everyone.
It's also unfortunate that you cant realize that it will be addressed when they make further changes or be overcome by any further changes made.
I didnt give up, nor do I, never give up on things like this. I pushed for the best outcome, and worked with Doja trying to make a case for this, but there are many factors and I know it may be hard to see and understand , but nothing said at this point will likely cause them to circle back around to this one point and address it any differently than they have planned.
I think lack of communication from the devs on this is the real problem. If they are already addressing the gear crunch in an update that will be coming soon (within a month or so), then I completely agree that it isn't worth the time to address this specifically.
But if the plan is to observe for 6 months and then maybe address the gear crunch at a later time, then it is most definitely worth the time to fix this now with something as simple as adjusting shard shop prices.
But they haven't said what their plan is. I'm not asking for details since obviously there could be issues but a big picture answer of a rough timeframe would help a lot in this case.
The phrasing we got is as committal as they will make it at this time. It's not about details, it's just not something they will say more on, much like what Doja tries to explain about his position. They just cant/wont until things are more "real".
We did get big picture answer, if that's all you are looking for.
These changes clearly open the door to conversations about other economies, including Gear. Without making promises, we are in the midst of exploring how this could change in the future - but we need to adjust Shard rates first.
Yes but in the midst of exploring is very vague. People are calling for a fix to this because they assume a 6 month to a year timeframe to the exploring phase. If it's much shorter than that, then your point of it not being worth it is fine.
But at the very least we should get an answer as to whether they plan to fix the bronizum nerf or if they agree with you that it isn't worth the time.
We should get a statement similar to one of the following.
1. We are aware of the community sentiment on the bronizum nerf. We will be adjusting the shard shop prices shortly to make the effects as neutral as possible.
2. We are aware of the community sentiment on the bronizum nerf. We are currently working on an overhaul of the gear economy and view that it isn't prudent to address this individually since the overall impact will be far less once our overhaul is implemented.
Still vague enough with no promises but answers one way or the other whether this is going to be addressed separately.
I understand, but then what you are saying is that you want more details, which is fair, but not what you said before.
Both of those seem to be promising things, IMO, and dont seem to be vague at all. So I think you have different ideas about how committal they can/will be to things like this.
I agree, easing the gear economy crunch for players is a promising idea, but that’s as concrete as it is right now...an idea. If the fix for the Bronzium nerf is a gear economy shift down the road 6+ months and makes up for the current Bronzium nerf, then I am for it.

I agree but with the caveat that if it is 6+ months down the road, they should fix the bronizum nerf now.
Look at it this way: A couple of years ago the devs changed (more than doubled!) the bronzium shard drops for full characters. It used to be that, if bronzium dropped a character that you already had, then you would only get a fraction of the shard equivalent. (Example: if bronzium dropped a 3* Teebo (worth 50 shards) on you but you already had it unlocked, then you only got ~15 shards.) The devs eventually changed it so that you would instead get the full 50 shard equivalent.
What they have done now is basically reverting some BUT NOT ALL of that change. We are still better off than we used to be. Try to look at the bright side!
I guess I’m ok with the overall gear crunch being eased assuming the economy change will overcome the nerf we are experiencing.
There’s no promise that we are for sure getting a gear economy change though, so until there is something concrete the gear economy change idea is in speculation zone.

Just chill out, it's no big deal really.
That’s before my time, so I have zero insights on that.
I appreciate that you look at this issue with an attitude of positivity. Thank you for that.
I mean this with all due respect: I am a free person and will choose to act according to my perspective. This platform allows me to share my thoughts as it does yours. I will also judge the size of the “deal” as I see fit and please feel free to do the same. Thank you.
That's strictly your opinion, for some people that are struggling with gear this is a big deal.
Assuming nothing more than a single 1* opening character each day (I normally get multiple)
That is 5 shards a day 75 Currency that we are down.
That's 2250 Shard Currency a month.
From the Stun Gun/Stun Cuff Node at the old price of 186 Currency that is 12 purchases at 6 shards each for 72 Shards, or roughly 1.5 Stun Guns / Stun Cuffs / Carbanti's etc etc each month.
Given 31 day months, an average of 1+ full openings per day (Someone said it was more like 12 from openings/day, larger than 1* openings, and I can easily see the average creeping up to 2.
I don't know about you but loosing a full Stun Gun or 2x Stun Cuffs etc etc each month is not "No big deal" to me.
The thing is, double character shards, while nice, isn't really THAT great a deal.
Don't get me wrong its nice that they did it but look at the math on this........
330 Shard * .3333% Drop Rate = 990 Sims of "Hard Energy"
990 Sims of "Hard Energy" = x2 # of Sims of "Normal Energy / Gear Only Nodes"
Lets also take into acct that most gear we are bottle necked at is MINIMUM 50 Shards with a lot of the G10-12 Pieces being a couple hundred.
So In the time it takes to farm a single character from 0 to 330 Shards you can farm 2? to 8 pieces of gear.
2-8...... about 1 level of gear at say G10-11.
So in doubling our # of Character Shards (Which is only on OLD characters, not NEW ones), they have freed up 445 "Sims" on Hard which is 990 on "Gear/Normal" level, which is about 200 Shards, or 1-4 Gear Pieces.......... every SEVEN months.
So once a year or so, a about 1 full gear level on a character is "Free" with this change.
But the Nerf to Bronziums is costing about 100 Gear Shards a Month. 1200 a year.
or 6-24 full pieces roughly.
So we get 1 level of gear a year at the cost of 1-4 levels of gear a year.
And all of this is only helpful if your playing catch up on characters.
For anyone that is done w/ their farms & only goes after new characters, they get No benefit from double shards & still loose out on 24 x 50 piece combines a year.
Except the above calculation goes with 1 day interval assumption of drops without any tracking. So much for integrity and all that spins out of that assumption.

Yes, some posts are overblowing the issue. Have not checked the math on that post as the English was difficult enough.
You should feel free to ‘chill’ elsewhere. This is a reasonable thread with reasonable points.
No, it is not. It is conspicuously lacking an acceptable level of chill.
Do not forget that it is just a game. Have fun with it. Get some perspective.
Chill.
For you it is a game, not even top 200 in arena. That is fine. No problem for you. You are already very chill...
For others it is hard earned money invested, representing far more than just a game.
Again, feel free to chill wherever you like. Allow others the same freedom of expression. Thanks.
Well now you have gone and made me feel bad about my sad underachieving life. I hope it made you happy. Maybe now you can bask in the radiance of your scathing attack and chill with a mimosa.

I find nothing wrong with your approach to the game. My post was not an attack, being below top 200 is fine...for you. Your experience is as valid as anyone else. That was my point. I was not scathing in any fashion as it was not intended as an attack.
Not one ounce of me enjoys hurting someone else. I would be happy to return to the topic and allow you to enjoy your freedom of expression as well.

No idea if bronzium drops have been changed since then or not, but this seems to align with my experience.
6 shards or 90SSC isn't much if I'm honest, but pre-change it does equates to 6 stun guns every two days, not two per month. (Assuming they show up often enough lol)
So losing half that, i.e. 90 stun guns/ month is actually huge, though it is in fact a small percentage of SSC(like 10% ish, though it could be much higher depending on your shard farms.)
Nearly two full stun guns per month loss. I will say that there is a ton of room for error here, but whenever possible I went conservative, so losses could, and likely are, larger for many folk, but still a lowish percentage of SSC and gear farms
No change, no fix. I just don’t want this to die, but it certainly feels over to me. Many changes could work:
1. Double full character drops from Bronziums.
2. Adjust shard shop prices to account for this resulting 10-15% decrease in shard shop gear from the Bronzium nerf.
3. Reward 1 full character Bronzium daily. 10, 25, 50, or 80 shards a day will not destroy the game.
4. Reward more shards from other events (GW, Assault Battles, Galactic challenges, Ally token shipments, etc.)
5. Double ally tokens.
6. Cut cost of Bronziums in half.
I’m sure there are many other proposed fixes that would work as well.
No change doesn’t necessarily mean it was an intentional nerf, but either they DO care and are INCOMPETENT or they simply DO NOT care about the nerf at all. BTW it could still have been an intentional nerf.
Lastly, I am happy to help new players and am glad CG is taking steps to secure a brighter future for the game, but not by hurting the huge existing player base (evidenced by the huge number of Division 1 players). Please DO something. It is past time.
Or, as they have stated they will likely be looking at the gear economy too, and this change will be balanced out when they do that. Since they dont like to commit to things that are not "ready" they cannot come out and directly say that.....
Also lets keep in perspective that actual size of the change, when saying they are "hurting players"
You are right they did say they were going to look at gear economy. Viewing their “timely” response to other issues we can expect that in 2022. Hyperbole potentially, but you get my point. It IS a nerf NOW.
I believe I said 10-15% gear from shard shop in the post you quoted. I don’t believe I have exaggerated the degree to which they have hurt our gear farming. I believe the word “hurt” is appropriate as the gear crunch was always harder than the shard crunch.
Again, helping new players is great.
Yep, and look at how long that 15% takes to add up to 1 piece of gear. It being a nerf now, and taking 6-9 months to fix, adds up to maybe a couple of full pieces of gear.
I believe you are undercutting the issue.
Its math. 15% of daily shard shop currency is not a huge amount. What you buy there are pieces some that need 20-50 to make part of a piece of a piece of gear.
I have not run the actual numbers so I left my comment vague to say a couple of pieces, but if someone ran the math even for 1 year, I would think its closer to 2 than 10. I think a couple is fitting, maybe a few.
Happy to meet you at 6, a full gear tier. Could have another relic in the roster. It matters.
You would have to show your math on that one. I would love to see you close out g13 on 1 toon only from bronzium and the shard shop. That is a stretch.
I use SSC for 90% of my G13 gear and it goes decently fast for me. Only exceptions are when they need G12+ stuff as well, which I'll get from wherever. So SSC isn't insignificant, and conservative math puts us losing 90 salvage per month, see above. Do t want to ruffle feathers, just tryna point out that this is in fact a pretty savage nerf, even if it is a smaller percentage.
I just saw an elder bundle in the store. As the number of shards is still the same in these bundles and the prices are still the same, they got less valuable. Or are these packs are now bundled in another way (e.g. with more gear). Did I miss some information about that topic?

@nurm you didnt miss anything, at this time packs have taken a slight hit on value. As most packs contain shards and gear, I imagine that this will all be addressed after they make decisions(and possible changes) to all segments of the economy.
the last thing (on Nov19th) posted by CG Crumb was:
First up is Bronzium packs, these originally were not going to be changed due a technical issue but seeing how important this was to you, the team dedicated some extra time to this and was able to find the issues that were preventing us from updating Bronzium Packs. Character shards dropped from Bronzium Packs will be doubled with the Anniversary Update. (This does not affect full character drops from Bronzium packs)
There's no indication in that statement that they're continuing to look into the full drops at all. I believe CG DogaFett said he'd take the full drop concerns to the devs on Nov 17th, but that was before Crumb's post. Do we have any indications from the devs that they're looking into the full drop shard changes at this point or are they done making changes?

It would be nice to get an official statement from CG. It's been several weeks. I assume everyone is back from Thanksgiving by now.

Hopefully we can get an answer then. I think the lack of an answer is worse at this point. If they aren't fixing the bronizum nerf, just say so.

unfortunately, I am sorry to say, he will not be meeting your arbitrary deadline.
may I ask why now is the time when they have to say something? Can't they be waiting to get a little more information on their end to see if they can get a fix in?

It isn't an arbitrary deadline. But I actually do have patience and even advocate for it in the forums when people expect an immediate answer to an issue. But when weeks or months pass and the dev's refuse to tell us one way or the other what they plan to do (if anything) about the bronizum nerf or the concerns people have with see, it is worse than just saying "we looked at th ef issue and won't be making changes".
It doesn't take a month to make a decision on whether they intend to fix the bronizum nerf or not. Making the decision doesn't even take a week. Implementing it may take until the next update but they can communicate their intentions before that.

1980 Sims * 20% Purple/Gold Gear Drop Rate = 396 Gear Shards
Lets call it 400 for a nice round #.
See the problem?
You should feel free to ‘chill’ elsewhere. This is a reasonable thread with reasonable points.
No, it is not. It is conspicuously lacking an acceptable level of chill.
Do not forget that it is just a game. Have fun with it. Get some perspective.
Chill.
For you it is a game, not even top 200 in arena. That is fine. No problem for you. You are already very chill...
For others it is hard earned money invested, representing far more than just a game.
Again, feel free to chill wherever you like. Allow others the same freedom of expression. Thanks.
Yes, some posts are overblowing the issue. Have not checked the math on that post as the English was difficult enough.
Though if your life is sad, and I caused a remembrance of it, I hope you are also able to gain perspective as well.
Chill.
10/25/50/80 shard characters seem to have different drop rates
Appears to be 1.2%/0.6%/0.3%/0.15%(conjecture for 80 pulls as sample was too small)
10 - 12/100 pulls
25 - 15/100 pulls
50 - 15/100 pulls
80 - 8-16(12)/100 pulls
Avg of about 1.5 shards per 10 pulls.
Avg of about 10k ally points per day(anecdotal, unconfirmed)
Translates to 40 pulls/day> 6 full character shards per day on average.
These are rough estimates based off of the 2681 pulls from this reddit post:

I'll let y'all draw your own conclusions
I use SSC for 90% of my G13 gear and it goes decently fast for me. Only exceptions are when they need G12+ stuff as well, which I'll get from wherever. So SSC isn't insignificant, and conservative math puts us losing 90 salvage per month, see above. Do t want to ruffle feathers, just tryna point out that this is in fact a pretty savage nerf, even if it is a smaller percentage.
@nurm you didnt miss anything, at this time packs have taken a slight hit on value. As most packs contain shards and gear, I imagine that this will all be addressed after they make decisions(and possible changes) to all segments of the economy.
They are looking at things, is the last message I got from Doja, but obviously this doesn't guarantee anything.
It would be nice to get an official statement from CG. It's been several weeks. I assume everyone is back from Thanksgiving by now.
I am just waiting for him to get "into the office" before I ping him for exactly that. but that doesn't guarantee anything.
Hopefully we can get an answer then. I think the lack of an answer is worse at this point. If they aren't fixing the bronizum nerf, just say so.
"at this point".....
unfortunately, I am sorry to say, he will not be meeting your arbitrary deadline.
may I ask why now is the time when they have to say something?
