    @Dons please read this:

    Kozi posted the following -

"Coming soon to Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes, you’ll be able to live Rey’s adventures through the Hero’s Journey special event. Experience some of her most thrilling moments as she progresses from a humble scavenger to making new allies to finding the legendary Luke Skywalker. Complete the event to unlock the next evolution of Rey and add her to your collection.

To participate, players will need the scavenger version of Rey, currently available in the game. You can look forward to playing as Rey (Scavenger) in her Hero’s Journey event, in support of the worldwide theatrical release of Star Wars™: The Last Jedi this December."

The key words here are highlighted in bold. I will break it down.

Making New Allies - similar to the Luke event we need to look at toons that appeared in TFA that shared screen time with Rey and aided her on her journey. As Poe, Resistance Trooper and Resistance Pilot did not the requirements or toons expected to aid Rey in this event are:

    * Scavenger Rey
    * Finn
    * BB8
    * VS Han
    * VS Chewie

To Participate - The Key toon to be able to play the event is Scavenger Rey. Participation does not mean finish. You can start playing with Rey say maybe tier 1 but you may be unable to complete tier 2 of the event without the toons noted above.

    Do you get it.

Yup. This is complete crap. JedI Rey is only for pay to win players.

And hopefully not the Falcon, which came up in the store today.....

The falcon was added to a hard node close to a month ago. It is farmable for F2P players.

Even if you rerfresh the node every day as many times as the game allows you, it is still not possible to 7* it by now.

Who says you would need it at 7*? It’s not like you’re going to be able to put it in your squad...

The new Rey is clearly being set up as only accessible to whales and people who are top 10 in arena and fleet arena.
Let's see, I am the latter one and preparing for this since weeks.

Me too as a f2p player but now I see it's a freaking waste of time.

Hold on, who doesn't think Rey is going to be OP?
It's a hero journey, you know, for a hero... It's going to be a big event. Also CLS isn't even a Jedi yet, he's at exactly the same level as Rey is, Rey might even be stronger than Luke at this point before training.

I told my kids I had to cancel their Christmas presents.
    Sorry little fellas!

Daddy needs his Jedi Rey !!

I am giving her a miss - finishing CHS, then need to get Finn finished, maybe Kylo in the middle if BB8 comes back, OB also needs a little more work when CLS comes back round to top him off.

Too many priorities, the Vets will have to wait so will just prepare them for the next iteration - would much rather farm them over 6 months than 2 weeks
  • Options
Devs. It's all but confirmed what characters will be needed to unlock Jedi Rey. A Hero's Journey for Rey means that she is probably going to be as op as CLS.

But you have decided to make it impossible for your free to play players to even have a shot at getting her the 1st time around. This means that f2p players are going to be put behind the 8 ball for as long as it takes for her Hero's Journey to come back around, which if it's like CLS will be a long time.

So, are you going to change this or what because you are basically stabbing in the back all of your f2p players like me who have been working really hard to prep for Jedi Rey?

Will Jedi Rey require the Vets and BB8 or not? If so are you going to make it possible for f2p players to have a shot at getting Rey the 1st time or what?

There have been a lot of characters we have had to wait to get, and I get that. But this is not a Legendary character. Jedi Rey will most likely be a meta changer like CLS. All we want is a fair chance.

If you are f2p let the Devs know your disappointment...

The two biggest problems are going to be...

    1. BB8. Nobody had any reason to spend all that time farming FOST until the BB8 event came out. Afterwards, we had no reason to expect we would need him again so soon. Expected a second BB8 event to take place a lot later than now. Of course this is all assuming they even plan on giving another BB8 event before Rey comes out.

    2. How much time they are going to give us to farm vets and the way we have to farm them. As many of us know, 35% definitely doesn't mean 35%. So, needing nearly 500 shards from cantina nodes that cost 16 energy is outrageous.

I've accepted I won't be getting this Rey. Unless you were just a fan of the first order (which I'm really not) you likely still aren't prepared for BB8. And if we're seeing the Rey event in December the only way you're going to have the Vets ready is if you're a whale or someone who doesn't need her because you're already a constant top player in Arena and Fleet and get thousands of crystal per week.

So, I'll farm away and see what happens, but like I said, I'm not expecting favorable results. They really just flood us with too many toons we HAVE to farm and this time it's all coming way too close together.

Just wondering why the falcon keeps popping up in the shop. We better not need it!
Why wasn't Cobb Vanth shards a reward for the Krayt Dragon raid? Why wasn't Endor Gear Luke shards a reward for the Speeder Bike raid?

I've only seen it once. And at that price, calling it a free to play method of farming is just ridiculous.

I'd like to be wrong but I think stage 1 is Rey (free BB8 on Jakku), 2 is Rey and BB8 (Jakku), 3 is Finn, Rey and BB8 (Vs FOST on Jakku), 4 is Falcon (Jakku escape), 5 is Finn, Rey, BB8, Han, Chewie (Takodona), 6 is Rey (going through Starkiller) or all 5 (Starkiller again) or a Han sacrifice, 7 is Finn, Rey Vs Kylo (Starkiller snow style). Each stage has the same number as stars required.

I hope EA wont do a complete di... I mean... unfair move here. Until now it was ALWAYS possible to obtain new legendary characters at first time when you had stacked enough resources (Thrawn!) and/or by chance had the right toons (almost) ready.

I personally stacked over 10k of crystals in preparation for this since I believe Rey will be similarly OP like CLS. My daily top-rank in both arenas should ensure I won't get out of crystals over the time. I also bet the 2 veterans smugglers are needed (besides Rey and probably BB8/Finn) and if they don't come around the corner in already 2 weeks with the Rey event it could be potentially doable with 6 cantina refreshes per day. I additionally stacked almost 1000 energy for the double drops tomorrow. And I would even be willing to spend a few(!) bucks if it will get too close.
Poe or other restance toons should be no big issue just in case. If Falcon is needed I am screwed.

If THIS will not be enough (or Rey will be really bad) I think I might ragequit ^^

I did exactly the same! I stacked 12k crystal just for the vets! If they wont be needed its okay, my fault, but if they put in millenium falcon as requirement i will quit the game surely

Read the post people. We were told what we’ll need to participate. EA even used the exact words:

Its funny to see so many of you go through weeks of useless stressing, speculating & panic farming because you didn’t read what EA wrote. They told us exactly what we needed for the CLS when they announced it, & they just did the same for the Rey event.

Anyway...good luck to everyone for the upcoming event!! May the Schwartz be with you!!!

Wait, you actually believe we'll get a CLS-level Rey with only one character? ROFL

Its cute you think Rey will be CLS level. ROFL!

Once again people dont read what was written. “ROFL”

What I said was that EA told us exactly what we would need for the CLS event when they announced the event. When they announced the Rey event they also told us what we’ll need. Nowhere in my post did I say anything about which level Rey I think we would be awarded.

When they first announced Luke's Hero's Journey, they ONLY stated the need for Luke.

and it was true. The first part of Luke's Hero's Journey required only Luke (the flash events),

I've seen people argue about the flash events not actually being part of that journey, but they are just flat out wrong. When the Flash events first appeared they were listed in the event calendar under... Luke's Hero's Journey.

The Devs are the ones who said it was part of the Journey and they did so before it even came out. There's no debate over this point. Anyone who argues against it is doing so out of ignorance.

Now when the SECOND segment of Luke's Hero's Journey came around they gave us a hint who else was needed roughly a month ahead of time, and flat out told us about 2-3 weeks ahead of time.

In other words, your comparison is inadequate and built upon faulty logic, as is the stance put forth by those who try and call the flash events not part of Luke's Hero's Journey.

Same here. I argued against Old Ben being needed until I was blue in the face, but in the end I ended up farming him... after I finished Phoenix, and FBL, because in the end I want all the characters anyway and it can't hurt to do a farm now and then out of speculation (unless you are horrible at speculating).

That is actually a good and valid point. Luke's journey was more than one part. It would be a wise move to space it out and give ftp a legit shot at farming the vets. Especially with all the heat coming down on ea for microtransactions/gambling model.

Aye. EA/CG has announced that the first TLJ toon "will be released in support of the movie's theatrical release in december". Since they also announced Rey's Hero's Journey people have tied the two together although there is nothing that says they are.

I remember when they were talking about the 2nd fan favorite this summer. Everyone was speculating on it. Then they made that announcement about Fulcrum coming and everyone assumed the two were tied together but they were 2 separate things...

I really think they will end up following mostly the same pattern for Rey's Hero's Journey as they did for CLS. I also think that people are mistaken in their attempts to conjoin the 2 announcements.

So I honestly believe there will be plenty of time to farm the smugglers if they are required. That being said, I am already storing up cantina energy for double drops to get as much of a head start as I can. After all, of the 2 sides in this argument: one is right, one is wrong, and there's no telling which is which.

I like converting it to shards per energy.

At a 1/3 drop rate on a 16 energy node it is roughly 48 energy per shard.
Since shipment costs are 80 per shard, as long as we're beating 48 energy/80 crystals, the cantina node is more efficient. That converts to .6 energy per Crystal.

100 Crystal refresh is 1.2 energy per Crystal.
200 Crystal refresh is .6 energy per Crystal

So cantina is better at 100 Crystal refreshes and breaks even with shipments at 200 Crystal refreshes (of course you get other things this is just about shards so it's technically better still)

TLDR: If you're spending more than 900 crystals on this a day, then do shipments rather than a 7th refresh. Otherwise cantina is better.

That's a better way to look at it, nice one :)

The only thing I'm not sure about is if there will be time to farm both from Cantina. Hopefully there will be as the earliest this thing will drop will be to coincide with the film release (piggy back off the film hype).

If it drops on the film cinema release day (15th Dec) then that's 22 days from today (23rd Nov) + 7 days event run time (speculating it'll be that) then thats 29 days - should be doable if you're managing to get around 20ish shards a day.

One thing that's got me in a bit of a panic farm is the Falcon as that's just dropped into the store... they know how to play me haha!

20ish shards a day is roughly 7 energy refreshes bought each day:
16 X 3 X 20 = 960 energy. you get 165 bonus energy/ regular tick energy each day so that's 795 energy that would need to be bought to get ~20 shards a day or 6.625 refreshes worth of energy.

Now like I said earlier, it is more efficient to buy cantina up until the 7th. so to average 20 a day the ideal scenario would be something like 6 refreshes every day and a 4 shard shipment purchase every other... which averages out to 1060 crystals spent every day as well (900 one day 1220 the other). 1060 X 29 = 30740 crystals to 7 star them both by the 22nd of December.

Now there's still double drops to consider that could eliminate a few purchases but I don't feel like going into that atm.

In other words, your comparison is inadequate and built upon faulty logic, as is the stance put forth by those who try and call the flash events not part of Luke's Hero's Journey.

That is actually a good and valid point. Luke's journey was more than one part. It would be a wise move to space it out and give ftp a legit shot at farming the vets. Especially with all the heat coming down on ea for microtransactions/gambling model.

But they didnt. Look at the original post about the event. The flash event was called trouble on Tatooine and ran in May and again during the ACTUAL event. Luke's heroes journey is just the the 7tier event that needed 5 7* characters. You could have skipped the flash events completely and still got luke. It was to support the event just like the Phoenix flash events.

NEW! Trouble on Tatooine Flash Event
May sees the introduction of a new type of event- Flash Events! Unlike other events, Flash Events only last one to four hours in each instance and repeat several times a day, so be sure to catch them when they launch! Flash Events difficulty and rewards are based off your account level. All initial runs of a Flash Event have more generous rewards, so be sure to participate early and often!
Our first Flash Event Begins MAY 25th and takes you to the harsh desert planet of Tatooine. This lawless world holds many dangers and mysteries, especially for moisture farmers. To participate in this multi-tiered event, task Luke Skywalker with inspecting the perimeter of the farm as you join forces with Jawas to square off against marauding Tusken Raiders.

Read the post people. We were told what we’ll need to participate. EA even used the exact words:

“To participate, players will need the scavenger version of Rey, currently available in the game. You can look forward to playing as Rey (Scavenger) in her Hero's Journey event, in support of the worldwide theatrical release of Star Wars™: The Last Jedi this December.”

If it wasn’t for that hint I would’ve never farmed old ben.

Same here. I argued against Old Ben being needed until I was blue in the face, but in the end I ended up farming him... after I finished Phoenix, and FBL, because in the end I want all the characters anyway and it can't hurt to do a farm now and then out of speculation (unless you are horrible at speculating).

I dont' understand why you would think Old Ben wouldn't have been needed for Luke's journey. He is the one person that sets Luke off on his journey and teaches him in the ways of the force - he was one of the most obvious toons needed.

I thought they wouldn't likely use R2, being only just released in his own legendary event, but didn't put it past EA to do that, not that I cared too much as I managed to unlock him at 7* anyways.

I was concerned about what Han they were going to go for - could easily have been raid Han - which would have done me in at the time.

However, the requiirements for Rey are obvious. I need not repeat them again.

What ever it is I’m sure if you want her EA will try to clean your wallet out to get her. Has anyone played battlefront 2 yet!?? A typical EA game pay to win. Don’t let them **** you. Just like this game is a pay to win

I don't see how anyone can possibly get Rey the 1st time around without spending hoards of crystals. Te vets just got put into f2p with what looks to be not enough time to get them both 7* on a f2p budget. Also Millennium Falcon EP VII just got put into shard shop and only has one hard node farm. Ive been farming the Falcon since it's release to hard node on barely got it unlocked.

Here’s a question for those that pay more attention than I do. How many days passed between cls event and the loading image update with cls on it? Wondering if we can use that to speculate days from when rey journey is coming? Put on the tin foil hats and lock the doors lol.

I see what you're saying but you've got the crystal amount a bit wrong there, 6 refreshes = 1100 crystals as it goes 100+100+100+200+200+400 (I did that yesterday) I stopped there but the 7th refresh is another 400 for anyone curious.

What I ended up doing yesterday was 5 refreshes which got me 14 shards so the decision then was to either buy another refresh at 400 (120 energy) which based on odds "should" have gotten me 2 more shards out of 7 runs (it's still 2 if you wanna round it up to 8 runs)

I decided to dig a bit deeper and buy 8 shards for 640 crystals to take me to 22.

Think I'll just keep approaching it like that and keep track of how many shards I'm getting. Bound to hit the odd day with atrocious luck and get very few shards from the Cantina energy - should even out, I think it did for me when I farmed Old Ben for CLS, first few days were really, REALLY bad on him! Was doing 3 refreshes a day and getting less shards than a mate only doing 1 refresh a day.

    RNG innit

Took the plunge today and bought £150 of Google Play vouchers for the bonuses and spent the money on 25% more crystals from both £99.99 IAP & £48.99 IAP - sitting on 38.8k crystals which should be enough to get em both to 7* especially considering the amount of crystals I get a day from Arena & Fleet

If we need Falcon I'll be big time screwed :)
