So far today, I have used all 5 sims for shore and two sims on DS 2-A (124 energy spent so far)
Currently have 29 energy with just under an hour till the 12 noon drop.
I have 135 free energy coming my way today, giving me 161.
Yet to spend:
Krennic (100)
DS 2-A (36)
LS 9-A (100)
LS 2-B (60)
Total 296 yet to spend.
You earn energy at a rate of 1 every 6 mins, so I will receive 10 per hour (6 / 60)
So by Payout, I currently have 29 + 45 free Noon drop + 60 accrued energy + 45 Payout energy = 179
By the time of the final free energy drop, (3 hours later) I will have + 30 accrued + 45 free, another 75 giving me 254... which is 42 short... Oh.
Ahem. Even though I have just proved myself to be completely wrong in my previous post, I have enjoyed drilling this down, I must have started with more energy for that day or something.
It's given me a better idea on my FOST farming strategy so thank you @Gawejn for calling me out on this!

Dec = Rey's Journey Flash Events. This will help gear up stuff. Could have Poe & BB-8 have to fight off FO in opening scenes. Rey and BB-8 as well. Finn escape from the Star Destroyer...etc, etc. (Replacing Jawa stuff)
Jan = actual event. Itll prob be mid Jan with the announcement at the beginning of the month on what we need. 7* Rey, BB-8 (which requires 7*FO and will be beginning of year it comes back too), Finn, Vet Han, & Vet Chewie. Potentially 7* Poe and 5-7* Falcon.
Feb = announcement of rework of Separtists and Padme Amidala (Attack of Clone Wars version) Legendary event needing 7* Separtists.

I think the actual event will be February with a major distraction like phoenix/thrawn was and a minor distraction like the ewoks were between now and then.

And if we are basing our assumptions of Rey's event off of Luke's event, I'll point out that all the toons needed for Luke (save R2) were readily available for farming in the game for over a year prior to the event. The Veteran Smugglers do not fit that criteria, so there is no reason everyone should panic that we need them.

Right it was a brand new event called heroes journey. This is also......a heroes journey. Theyve been pretty consistent with requirements of the same type of event. Also you're looking at how long they were farmable instead of who was in the movie and interacted with luke which imo is way more relevant to who well need.

What point are you trying to make though?
Yes, this game is rather f2p friendly. I agree with that. Yet this game also targets whales/krakens (who may or may not be responsible for the majority of the revenue).
I feel like this disussion is poinless. Even if the rey's journey event is possible for f2p players, wich will probably be the case, some players won't be able to unlock her the first time around regardless of whether they have or have not spend any money in the past. The main concern seems to be that you'd have to spend (additional) money in order to get the new rey (since the vets aren't farmable yet).
Possible for f2p is one thing, reasonable to expect to unlock the new rey for f2p players is a whole different matter. Similar to getting 7* thrawn the first time around, possible for f2p, yet unreasonable to expect to get him 7* if you're f2p.
Guess what y'all, Rose is on her way too and i don't think nightsisters will be required to get her.
So, when something like a Nightsisters event drops everyone gets panicked because they weren't expecting the event so they are not ready. It happens.
However, as I was trying to beat the Commander Luke event, I was already wondering what the next one would be and who it might require. Not long after that, Hermit Yoda got his release. Hmmmm...
Furthermore, I started thinking about who else might get a hero's journey type of event. Rey? Kylo's story arc is still unknown to us. Then two veteran smugglers were released out of the blue for no apparent reason. Hmmmmm...
The fact is, while some of these events are not predictable (ie Nightsisters), some of them absolutely are. There are still more movies in the works that will include characters who are not yet in-game such as Rose, Snoke, Hux, Young Han Solo, Young Lando, etc. For most of those, its fairly easy to guess who will be needed. If and when they drop i guarantee someone will shout foul because they lacked foresight.
The First Order and Resistance are both good teams. They are both required for mod challenges. If you've been playing for a while, you should have both teams already. You know they will continue to be required for future events.
On the other hand, if the Veteran Smugglers are required (I think they will/should be), and they are not made farmable in time, it would be a slap in the face to the entire game community.
But, If they are made farmable in the coming weeks and you don't farm them regardless of a requirement announcement. It's your own fault.
CLS was/is awesome and he made Rebels the best we've seen them (and that's a lot of rebels). With Lightsaber(?) Rey being released in the same event as CLS, one could think she will be the catalyst for a focus on the Resistance alongside the current trilogy. Rey is the "hero" for the current films and Luke for the originals, so... My Question Is: Who's gunna get the Hero' Journey from the prequel trilogy?

Do you remember when Luke's journey was announced and they said you'll need Farmboy Luke? And then people started guessing about what other toons would be needed and the consensus was the people who helped him along the way including Old Ben, Han, Leia, and R2? So... sure, call it speculation. But like the man said, ignore these posts at your own risk. It will certainly include BB8 and Finn. It feels VERY LIKELY that Vet Han & Chewie will also be required. Anyone else like Poe, RT, RP... those maybe tangentially helped her journey but the ones we're all recommending certainly did help her journey. just saying...

That's certainly a possibility. I will however start farming them asap when they become farmable, just to be on the safe side. (didn't with grievious, seemed less likely at the time and futile since i wouldn't have him anywhere near 7* before the event would go live)
Just FYI, the vets are actually pretty good toons in their own right. Been using them very frequently in GW, TB and in raids.
If anything, unless you're a total F2P, if you're on the fence of crystal farming these toons, I can say they are worth it regardless of the possible use in the Rey journey event.

Those Cantina nodes are really no better than a hard node. You can expect 1 shard per refresh from them. They are more expensive than hard nodes.
Why nobody else has figured this out is beyond me.
On the low energy cantina nodes I get pretty good drops.
However on the 16 energy nodes, I completely agree. I'd rather refresh a hard node than refresh attempts at those things.
Cantina gives you 165 free energy per day, that’s 10 attempts for 3,33 shards.
To get 10 attempts at a hard node it costs 50 crystals to refresh the node and costs 200 energy.
3 cantina refreshes gives you 32 attempts, which means 10,83 shards for a cost of 300 crystals.
30 attempts from a hard node requires 5 refreshes of the node at 250 crystals. At 100 energy / 5 attempts you will need on top of the free energy (375 / day) to buy 2 energy refeshes at 100 crystals, bringing the total to 350. To get the extra 2 attempts you have from cantina require one refresh of energy and another of the node, to a grand total of 450 crystals.

Disclaimer: I have never refreshed a hard node so I don’t know if it always costs 50 crystals or will the price go up?
That's cool and all, but my point is that my drop rate has always been trash on the 16 energy cantina nodes. I'm saying I would rather refresh a hard node once for 50 crystals than spend 100 on the cantina node.

Yes I remember Luke's journey. You needed Farmboy Luke (readily available in the game to farm for over a year), Leia (readily available in the game to farm for over a year), Old Ben (readily available in the game to farm for over a year), Storm Trooper Han (readily available in the game to farm for over a year), and R2 (part of a special event, like BB8).
Are you seeing a pattern yet? If everyone is going off of the last event, then WHY would the Veterans, who aren't farmable in the game, be included?
Here's an ideaaa! Nobody panic farm and drop a whopping ZERO dollars trying to get Rey the first time! Maybe this will start changing the tune a bit.. maybe.. probably not.. but maybe lol
What about the whales who already have said toons that can easily get Rey on the first try ... wouldn't that make the game less competitive for some if Rey is OP and changes the meta? Just wondering ...
